This game doesn't play like a typical 1/2 game. It plays more like a 5/5. Preflop raises are minimum 8xBB.
$450 effective stacks
Villain is a maniac whenever he decides to play a hand. His raises preflop are minimum $25-30. He has shown a wide range of hands when he has raised. If he thinks you're weak, he has no problem throwing out massive overbets. (And in these cases, he's holding air, or the nuts)
Hero is dealt Ac Jd in BB. 5 limpers, SB (villain) completes, Hero checks.
Flop: As Ad 6s Pot: $14
Villain checks, Hero bets $11, UTG calls, 4 folds, Villain raises to $60, Hero calls $49, UTG folds.
Turn: 8h Pot: $145
Villain checks, Hero bets $80, Villain raises to $280, Hero calls.
River: 9h Pot: $705
Villain checks, Hero checks.

66 or a flush draw
perhaps A6.
I think you played it ok, not sure how you can call on the turn however

To get him to stick the rest in on the river. Although, I'd probably just stick it all-in on the turn.

This guy is absolutely nuts. I've found it pretty hard to play him, but I couldn't put him on A6/66 here. I'm certain he would've played it a bit slower. The turn call was completely read-based.
Although a bit results oriented, A6 doesn't check the river with $100 behind into a $700 pot.

River becomes an easy push. You're way better than 50% vs the hands that call you and can't be re-raised.
I think you have him out-kicked.

I get it in on the turn and bust a giant nut in his face.
