It's probably an overset. But it could also be any overpair.
Anyway, I'm never folding sets, so I push and think about Ted Forrest.

I check/raise the flop big to rep some sort of draw.

As played I fold the turn and think of Tommy Angelo.

Uh, yeah, I'm going to have to go ahead and ..disagree with you...

MP1 minraised preflop? Since you have no read on him, he could have anything here...big pair, two pair, draw, whatever. But what are you afraid of? 44, A4, 89? I would be deciding between pushing and calling, not folding...

You called preflop to flop a set. You hit it, now get paid.
Save your stories 'cuz they're all the same..

TA is a high stakes limit 2p2er who's famous for folding big hands for 1 or 2 bets. He's also a coach. Google him.

He wrote this which is stickied in the shorthanded forum and is from his website:

Tommy has an even better story about folding pocket Aces in something like a limit 20/40 game as in excercise in self-control.

There is something to be said for folding good hands when you know you're beat or they've gone to hell. That said, he's also capable of calling down Ax unimproved all the way. I admire that he's able to trust his reads that much.

I saw this. To get to fold near nut hands you need to be able to fold the nuts yourself. It sounds stupid when saying it to myself but it makes sense when I think about it.

Anyways this thread rocks, we get AI and he has Q8dd lolz

This is why I hate playing NLHE 100+ deep against "unknowns". Given the lack of a read I go for the c/r line on the flop that pretty much commits my stack to this pot unless I whiff. If I whiff and turn bet I can issue a donk mulligan on the cheap.

Although WTF is with all the retarded aggression lately?

When I play $400NL I've been playing a 50bb stack and leaving when I hit around 75-100bb or so. In smaller games I don't worry much about it. Dealing with aggro monkeys is so much easier when you can just jam your stack into the pot.
