Villain is 22/5ish and kind of passive. I have multiple (3+) notes of Villain limp/calling any Ace and some random suited cards from EP and MP.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (7 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

CO ($54.85)
Button ($52.90)
SB ($61.70)
BB ($49.25)
UTG ($50)
MP1 ($54.90)
Hero (MP2) ($49.25)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K, K
1 fold, MP1 calls $0.50, Hero raises to $2.50, 4 folds, MP1 calls $2

Flop: ($5.75) 10, 2, 8 (2 players)
MP1 bets $3, Hero raises to $11.50, MP1 calls $8.50

Turn: ($28.75) A (2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero checks

River: ($28.75) Q (2 players)
MP1 bets $12, Hero dot dot dots

I think I'm behind his range here since I can't think of a single hand I beat besides like Jacks. Am I missing something?

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

Yeah after flop action it seems his most likely holdings are FD / Ten / overpair (or better). The river lead doesn't exactly scream "jacks" so I think it's farily likely that his FD came in, his QT hit, he got tired of slowplaying his set or some 2pr hand that beats you.

Doesn't a turn bet pretty much commit us? If so, is that what we really want?

I felt like the only hands I could get anymore value out of after the Ace fell were Tx one-pair type hands and hands where he misses his draw on the river but bluffs or bets his one-pair. So instead of building a big pot on the turn when it's going to be hard for me to tell what to do on the river, I let him take all of those one-pair hands to the river. I give up some equity by letting him draw to 9+ a portion of the time, but in exchange I keep the pot small and avoid making huge mistakes on the river.

If I bet the turn then I'm representing like an Ax hand that bluff raised the flop or a set or the occasional AT and it's going to be really easy for worse hands to fold at that point besides draws. I give up getting value out of the draws for one street for getting value out of them on the river sometimes and getting value out of other hands I beat on the river sometimes, and I think this part balances itself out. Where I feel I really gain by checking the turn is the times that he already has me beat and I get a lot of money in behind. Checking the turn avoids that while keeping my other considerations for value roughly the same.

Okay I hope that makes sense.

same thought on checking the turn, blows off a lot of hands we beat, but lets draws come in cheap
