Villain is real loose and somewhat passive preflop.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Hero ($50)
Button ($46.60)
SB ($24.85)
BB ($23.45)
UTG ($23)
UTG+1 ($20.60)
MP1 ($45.35)
MP2 ($72.15)

Preflop: Hero is CO with T, 8.
3 folds, MP2 raises to $1.5, Hero calls $1.50, 3 folds.

Flop: ($3.75) 8, 7, Q (2 players)
MP2 bets $2.5, Hero calls $2.50.

Turn: ($8.75) 3 (2 players)
MP2 checks, Hero checks.

River: ($8.75) 5 (2 players)
MP2 bets $5, Hero calls $5.

Final Pot: $18.75

This villain is 23/6/2.3 after 140 hands. I take this line alot with overpairs because this is a spot in which I don't expect to get paid off by them but expect to lose alot when behind if I play aggressive.

Button ($54.70)
SB ($11.90)

Hero ($54.65)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A, A.
Hero raises to $2, 1 fold, MP2 calls $2, 4 folds.

Flop: ($4.75) J, J, 5 (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 checks.

Turn: ($4.75) 5 (2 players)
Hero bets $2, MP2 calls $2.

River: ($8.75) 4 (2 players)

I'm completely baffled by Hand# 1, but maybe that's just me being ign'ant...

You cold call a mediocre HU hand in position, and then don't appear to leverage that position in subsequent streets... calling his cbet with MPWK, checking thru the Turn and calling a 1/2 PSB completely unimproved on the River. Since he's passive PF, I'm guessing u figured his PFR for something, and I'd think a bunch of those somethings beat you (AQ,KQ,QJ, 99-JJ, A8, A7, K8, K7, 87, 33, 55 and some other misc combos) Can you give me some insight on the "why" behind this one?

Hand 1: Fold preflop, call flop, bet turn. betting the turn narrows villains range and takes over the betting.

Hand 2: I think it's played just fine. Play for a small pot and entice as much out of lower pp as possible.

Preflop I have a playable hand 100bbs deep against a retard. It's close for me between 3-bet and call, not call and fold. If he were a little tighter I'd 3-bet.

On the flop I have middle pair and no draw so I just want to get to showdown cheap and use my position to do so. He fires a c-bet and I call intending to fold on the turn if he does again or raise if I improve.

On the turn the board texture hasn't changed but he has checked to me. If I bet he either folds or calls. If he folds, great I win the hand. If he calls I'm probably losing. Again, I'm just trying to get to showdown as cheap as possible.

On the river I don't give him credit for a hand because he checked the turn on a dry board and don't think he's suddenly value betting now. I think he's bluff in hoping I had 9T or some random draw.

As you see I was using my position but not to try to bluff because there's no need to. It's very likely I have the best hand.

This is using position with aggression:

MP1 ($12.40)
MP2 ($31.85)
Hero ($50)
Button ($62.75)
SB ($31.50)
BB ($71.20)
UTG ($48)
UTG+1 ($90.70)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 5, 4. MP1 posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG raises to $2.5, 3 folds, Hero calls $2.50, 3 folds.

Flop: ($6.25) A, J, J (2 players)
UTG bets $3, Hero calls $3.

Turn: ($12.25) 4 (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $7.5, UTG folds.

Final Pot: $12.25

jimmy44 is on a distinguished road
Hand 1: I might also bet turn (I don't want to give T9s/AJ/AK a free card). If he's passive post flop I might fold river also, you are only beating bottom pair ...

Hand 2: I'm surprised with the action I get from 66-TT and QQ-KK with this board and AA in my hand (I sometimes even get re-raised on flop with air)! I c-bet flop. check turn and normaly check/call river.
