No major reads on either player, but neither had stood out as particularly LAGGY. Being in position should I have bet on either the turn or river when checked to?

betting an amount that will get MP1 to fold Qx on the river could be decent. i think mp2 has something even worse.
My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

What amount would generally get something like Qx or maybe even Kx (with no hearts) to fold? Something like $5 or will something like $4 generally do the trick?

I'd say like 5.50 will do the job for Qx but I think the drawback to turning this into a bluff is never folding out Kx. That would only be likely if you had started to bluff on the turn. The logic of 'i has top pair and one of the draws has missed and the betting is over if i call' isn't too unprofitable for them here.

yea I certainly agree that you would have to bet it on the turn to work.

btw, MP1 had 88 (with one heart) and MP2 scooped the pot with AQo (and no hearts).
