Knowing how to play in these spots against unknowns is one of my biggest weaknesses. Had less than 10 hands against villian so no reads at all. Any help on how to play these sorts of hands would be greatly appreciated.

I think you played it fine, maybe c-bet less on the flop. $2 more than gets the job done, and means you've only gotta succeed with the c-bet less than 50% of the time for it to be +EV vs slightly over 50% when you're betting more than pot sized.

Yea, when I looked at it during review I noticed that my bet here was a tad too big.

Thanks for the input guys.

c/c flop to c/f turn

Betting flop here turns your hand into a bluff because it certainly isnt for value. You have good showdown value, so let's try to get there for free.
In addition, lots of people will bluff this flop when checked too but shutdown on the turn.
Balance this by checking flop with weak Aces.

before I read anyone else:
no need to overbet, are you really worried about draws?

I could say c/c, c/f but that may be results oriented. If he checks turn bet river.

Obv sometimes you win, sometimes you lose here. You're not going to get raised often on this board
