Already I don't like how I played this hand.

I'm still kicking myself for not firing out a blocking bet on the river, but I was sidetracked by a tourney I was playing (which I bubbled on a few mins later, but thats a different story).

No real reads on villain, but he seems fairly tight and quite competent. (Hadn't been at table long and was mainly concentrating on tourney.)

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

UTG+1 ($826.69)
MP1 ($392)
MP2 ($422.54)
MP3 ($392.78)
CO ($339.30)
Button ($427.10)
SB ($725.92)
Hero ($278.90)
UTG ($315.54)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9, J. SB posts a blind of $2.
4 folds, MP3 raises to $12, 3 folds, Hero calls $8.

Flop: ($26) A, 3, T (2 players)
Hero checks, MP3 bets $15, Hero calls $15.

Turn: ($56) A (2 players)
Hero bets $20, MP3 raises to $40, Hero calls $20.

River: ($136) T (2 players)
Hero checks, MP3 bets $211.9, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $347.90

Instacall? Instafold?

Both his preflop raise and turn reraise suggest he has an ace, but his precise bet on the river makes me suspicious - its a classic intimidation tactic. He wouldn't want to intimidate me if he had a boat, surely he'd value bet??

Anyone feel my flush may have been good?

I would need some type of rocket or missile vehicle to get away from this hand fast enough. Quite frankly I'm probably check/folding the turn.

Yeah I know its an obvious fold.

I'm just really suspicious of his river bet... it stinks.

You could consider check-raising the flop and probably shutting down from there unless the pot odds he gives you are too good to pass up. He'll fold to your check-raise a lot of the time and even if he has AK he can't be in love with his hand.
