River: You might be good to a worse two pair, and the pot is fairly big. I still muck here, but I think it's close.

I hate short stacks.

it was like 23% on the turn without bigdog calling and i figured with implied odds i could make it a profitable play. i thought for a while and called river btw feeling that a straight doesnt check/call the turn and im ahead of a decent number of possible hands.

Tough spot, given that he's a short buy making a weird play, I'd look him up. The guy check/calling every street with a full buy on a draw heavy board that didn't get there wouldn't concern me much.

I think the flop play is the most interesting. If the table texture is loose and fishy (with some shorties), what do you think of check/calling this all the way and going nuts if your flush comes?

 i dont mind check calling but i think with a pair and flush draw id be tempted to check raise the turn big enuf to frighten off all but a dumb chaser or the straight. Offers more fold equity imo.

Well I certainly dont advocate mucking the turn... The odds are way to good in your favor and I think folding would be a really weak option. Actually I think you played your hand perfectly all the way to the river where it gets really tricky. If you know anything at all about villain it would be so much easier... I can easily see the typicall idiot donkplaying his AK that way, but without reads I dunno... Would lean to a fold.

To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

I find a fold here. That bet is about 3/4 pot.

Well, he either has 67, or something really weak like a busted draw or TJ or something along those lines.

You're probably good here given that no one else has shown all that much strength...your position sucks but oh well.

 turn call is fine

i'd fold the river. Villain has represented a straight draw on the flop and a completed straight on the turn and river. I believe him.

The turn call is not "fine" it is REQUIRED. The only alternative would be to RAISE. You have top pair with the nut flush draw. Your equity in this pot is HUGE.

Is he smart/greedy enough to look at the $44 pot and lick his chops? If he's fishy enough, a busted draw is enough of a possibility to call here. If he's tight or tricky/aggro (meaning he's slow playing, reasoned due to the LACK of aggression) I think you can fold here. There's still two other callers in the pot, not everyone is on the same draw.
