Today's tourney made me remember why I dont play at stars. now before I continue let me make clear that I am not a conspiracy theorist. I have logged tons of hours at stars, ub, full tilt and several other sites. I play between 30-40 hours a week online. My opinions are not from a few hands, they are from thousands. With that being said, if you are going to rip me for not providing stats, that is understandable. However my response to you will be simply this is just my opinion and its totally cool if you disagree.

And of course on each of these sites there are people that cry rigged, etc. I am not one of these people.

Basicly with all of the hours I have logged on the various sites, poker stars is the only one I still do not trust 100%. I truly feel that alot of the hands on stars are what I call "loaded". What I mean by that is that its basicly a situation when 2-4 people enter a large pot and the cards come out in such a way that most if not all the players catch a big part of the flop and all the money goes into the pot and the worst hand many times wins.

This was something that I saw over and over and it happened way more often on stars than anywhere else. Over a few hundred hands I can see how this can happen, but i played on stars for almost a year before i finally felt that it would be better to play elsewhere. We are talking 3 tables at a time 30-40 hours a week. So this is thousands of hands.

Whats my point in all this? My point was that I personally need to not take winning and losing in this league so seriously. I need to view it more about having fun than being one of the best players here. The reason is because basicly in the last tourney I was involved in a "loaded" hand with someone and all the chips went into the center and I was knocked out within 10 minutes. Now, I understand that this was only one hand, but it just reminded my why I dont play there.

This doesnt mean I am going to stop playing in FTR, I still find it fun and the people pleasant. But the bottom line is that I cant put full stock in my results.

And once again, as I said, I am totally cool with it if anyone disagrees. And if you think its hearsay without stats, you are probably right. I can only go by my experience and gut on the matter. And the reality is, there are many many other poker sites that I can play on. That is why I havent really taken the time to collect all the data because stars is not the only game in town so if I dont trust it I just wont play there when I am grinding and there is something at stake.

But for $10 FTR tourneys it will be fine. However if anyone in the future wants to hold them somewhere else I am all for it.

Anyway, bitchfest over. Rip me if you must.

The only way to prove if it is rigged is to record all of the "loaded" hands and their frequency and details, then play an equal number of hands live and record how many "loaded"-esque hands occur.

I'd be confident that you'd find that the numbers are the same and the details are irrelavant.

I used to have a job for Poker Stars as the random number generator. They would just say to me, "Humph, gimme a number between 1 and infinite." I usually tried my best to make them random. I'd tell them 72,676,936 and the next time it would be 42,043. But there was a streak where I was unhappy and I had just stopped smoking, and my girlfriend left. They kept asking for numbers and I kept giving them the number 6. Over and over. So it may be my fault you had some bad beats.

Sorry.

(BTW, I would still be there today, but I got replaced by a baby who could mash his palm on the numberpad. DAMN YOU, BABY!)

I have no problem if you disagree, however you can just as easily say it is not rigged and not provide stats.

Without stats at this point neither of us are right or wrong because we cannot prove it. And since stars is one site out of many its easier for me to just not play there when it matters.

I was saying that if you were to set out to prove your point the only source of "untainted" hands would be from a truely random source. The deck and a live game. So you'd have to take a huge sample of online hands and compare them to a huge sample of live hands. Until some does that a proves that there are more "loaded" hands online vrs live, I'll believe they are full of shizzle.
