With the season wrapping up, we now have the post-season Tournament of Champions to look forward to. The date will be determined after we decide who qualifies for this invitational tournament.
So here's the deal. The TOP 9 players of Season II will be invited to play on a date and time that all 9 can agree on. This is where I would like your input. Check out the Leaderboard: http://www.powerplaystats.com/~ftr/
What should be the criteria we use to decide who the "top 9" players are? These are the season's "champions" -- the best players of Season II.

I reckon that the top 9 players from season I should play the top 9 from season II in a two table tourney. However Dave will be in the top 9 for both seasons, so we will need to figure out a way around that.

The best of both seasons on two tables... that's an interesting idea.
We should probably make this a higher buy-in too... like $10 or $20?
Keep your suggestions coming.

NO! We cannot break the precedent set by Season II
How could the TOC not be played at Absolute?!?
I think it should be a $20 buy-in, with just Season II participants.

Top 9??? Whew! Looks like I just made it, sorry I couldn't be at the finale, stupid new job. You know looking at it, I actually rank 5th on the money list, that sounds so much better thank 9th.
I also think it should stay on Absolute, and only be season 2 people. As for a time, I'd prefer a weeknight, I would like to have a week's notice so I can make sure I'm there, and I can let work know that there is NO WAY I AM MISSING THE TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS!!!

Keeping to a wed night would be good for me, but I am up to anytime as long as everyone can agree.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Uh-oh.
I cannot let this coment stand without something said. This comment makes it sound, er, a little bit homoerotic. When in fact it was perfectly innocent.
See, what happened was, during Gauntlet 21, I whipped out my weiner for good luck. Then Genius accidently spit on it between (his) hands. And then after I won a huge pot from Genius, I tripped on some of his chips, and 'said weiner' fell into his ass.
See, perfectly innocent. :P
(Ok, so my sense of humor is crude. All apologies. Especially to Dwarfman...I understand he does not tolorate homoerotic humor.)

Gladly. But I have a few things to do first...like the Tournament of Champions, etc. So give me, say 50 years. I'll get around to it.

Nh, sir.
How about a Season 1 tournament of champions at Stars, and a Season 2 tournament of champions at Absolute?

Xianti, when setting a date/time, remember that Dwarfman is Brittish. I know he made a few of the Wednesdays, but for him that's starting at 3 am.
Sure Dwarfman CAN stay up. But likely that's not the hour to get his BEST game.
For me, Wednesdays are no good starting Sept 7 (my pool league starts). Schedule accordingly (ie, on a Wed if you want to make sure I don't come :P )

Any day and any time is fine with me. I am a bit confused as to why people wouldn't want the season 1 Gauntlet champions to play as well since it will increase the prize pool and this tourney is about the money and bragging rights....the more good player you beat, the more you can brag. I suggest:
Thurs September 1st at 9pm eastern with a $20+2 buy-in
second choice would be:
Tuesday September 7th at 9pm eastern with a $20+2 buy-in
Any other specific day and time requests?

Thursday 1st September is fine for me. It will start at 2am for me, but I'll still be on summer holibobs, so that's fine.

My home games are on Thursday and Friday each week, but I can probably skip that Thursday if everyone else agrees, I don't want to be the party pooper.

Thursday, Sep 1, at 9:00pm ET.
$20 buy-in NLHE.
2 tables of the top finishers from Seasons I and II.
This sounds good. Just one thing before I set it up... a few of the players from Season I don't have AP accounts: zenbitz, rocker52, and cupandhandle.
rocker52 and cupandhandle haven't been around here since March and May, but zenbitz? Can you get an Absolute Poker account? Or shall I just make this at PokerStars?

We know that the top 9 from season 1 all have active PokerStars accounts, and all those from top 9 in season 2 have active Absolute Poker accounts.
So what about putting a single table for the top 9 season 1 finishers at Stars and a single table for the top 9 finishers at Absolute?
Just throwing around a suggestion.
