Only reason I ask is that basically Les_worm had almost as many points as the 2nd and 3rd place finishers simply by virtue of winning the 1st event which had a disproportionately large number of players relative to the rest of the events.

He was basically on cruise control from there on out. No disprespect to his accomplishment because it is probably more impressive that he won that freeroll than anything else. I am just wondering if some sort of tweak might be needed for future seasons because of this.

Thoughts?

I won the first freeroll and I also won the 3rd freeroll w/ 99 people in it so my points weren't all from one tournament. I had some other point finishes as well.

Les_Worm did win when it counted. I agree with jmrogers7. Because the freerolls attract so many players, they become by far the highest-weighted Gauntlet events. I think we should find a way to limit registration for the freerolls: Either by enforcing pre-equisites for registrants or by turning the freerolls into money-added tourneys (so there is still a $5 buy-in).

Final Gauntlet Standings: 5th, Money Won: $128.97, Points: 195.30

I was selective, if you notice I only played in 5 events when I could have played in as many as 12.

I was at the table for that last freeroll that Les won.......
All I can say is that I watched him, just as myself he was card DEAD, after I was knocked out I stayed and watched him all the way.

One word "Amazing"
and of course he only played 5 that is even more impressive, he coulda milked it bad if he wanted to, needless to mention his avatar, this guy rules!

Please don't take this to mean that I am belittling his accomplishment. I actually said that him winning those freerolls was as impressive as anything. Just wondering if there is a more fair way to weight the events is all.

If I only win 1 freeroll then the race is very tight w/ many people being able to take the top spot. I think by winning 2 I set myself apart and If I got anything less then first after winning the two tournaments with the largest fields, that would be unfair.

Les wining both Freerolls was nothing short of amazing. On the other hand though I agree the points system could use some tweaking. I mean I finished 9th in points, yet I was 5th in the money. But yes, congrats Les, you were a smooth operator.

Miffed22001 is on a distinguished road
I certainly wouldnt want to take anything away from les's acheivment. Possibly there could be a fixed number of points for wining tournys no matter how many entrants but there are bonuses for the more entrants (eg 100 points for a win regardless of numbers but say ten bonus points for each ten entrants if you see whta im saying) therefore winners will be awarded properly but winners of big torneys will also be awarded for their acheivment. I won a gauntlet game but i only got 20 points (was happy for the win i must say) still is this at least a proposable idea?

I don't think this could work. If someone wins a tourney with 90 people they clearly deserve many more points than the person who wins one with 11 people.

I agree with Les_Worm I don't think it is broke, so no need to fix it.
Just my opinion

I think for the "freerolls" you must have played in an entry fee tourney before playing in the "free roll"

I also think someone who plays all 12 evens should get bonus points or an extra point for every tourney you play in.

This season, I think we keep the freerolls outside of the Gauntlet. We'll still try to set up freerolls, but they'll just be one time tourneys, not anything that counts during our Gauntlet. I think that will keep the league games to the serious players and not one-timers hunting down freerolls.
