I'm sorry about the scheduling of TOC VII on a big sports Sunday. I'm not a sports fan, so I really have no idea. I'll be sure to run it by some people who know Sunday sports next time before I schedule it.

To give European players a fair chance to play the TOC, it needs to be on a Sunday afternoon.

As for the short notice... it was suggested to me in previous seasons that I schedule the TOC immediately after the final Gauntlet game, while we still have momentum. It seems that with this season's extended length, we lost momentum (player participation) in the final stages, which probably added to the low turnout for the TOC.

There was a 1-week break after the final game and the TOC this season. And, admittedly, I hadn't given a full week's notice. The email blast had gone out with 5 days' notice. I thought this may be alright, since too early of a notice with emails means some people forget. Multiple email reminders are perceived as spamming by many.

Next time, I'll build the TOC into the Gauntlet schedule, so it appears in the Gauntlet homepage's "upcoming games" list after the final season game. It hadn't been done like that before, because the way it's currently set up, its results would be factored in to the season point distribution. I'll talk to our Gauntlet programmer about tweaking this (along with tweaking the point system, if we can come to a majority agreement to change it).

We have some things to think about before next season begins a few months from now. Shorter season? New point calculation? To Omaha or not to Omaha? Keep shorthanded NLH games? What about HU?

And I still think it would be much fun to do HORSE for the TOC, but it would likely kill attendance... or maybe not?

This was my first full season in the Gauntlet and I loved it. Sure a tweak or two might be needed but people shouldn't be so quick to rag on it - it's a great league, fun and a real learning tool for many.

As for the proposed changes, I don't know if this is where people's views should be but here's my $.02 anyway.....

Shorter season? Yes, I think so. Another way to keep interest would be a standard gauntlet reminder in the commune at the start of each day and maybe bump it (if necessary) with 2 hours and 1 hour to go.

New point calculation? I don't mind providing it doesn't hinder people who can't make Wednesday's because of the time. Would two games on a Sunday be madness?

To Omaha or not to Omaha? It's a waste of $11 for me but I still played one just for a laugh so I don't mind. Same goes for HORSE or any other variant. I think we need to be careful and not make it too diverse though.

Keep shorthanded NLH games? Definite yes on this for me.

What about HU? I liked it.

I too think the season needs to be shorter and the scoring should be revamped (I will put together some scenario's and pm them to you as a starting point).

I think we keep all of the formats. Although I totally sucked at Omaha it was really fun playing that one.

I vote for shorter, i basically didn't play a single game last season, because I realized I wouldn't be able to make that big of a commitment. And posted as such before teh start of the season. I don't know exact numbers but I think something like 24 total games.. and needing to play like 10 or something would be about right. With one evening slot and one afternoon slot per week, many people can only ever play during one of those times. And if any other random things come up they might miss both.. so having 24 games.. and needing to play 12 is not a good plan imo.

I think 6m and HU are good... omaha I can take or leave...
So you click their picture and then you get their money?
