This news comes from the tournament coordinator at Absolute Poker and affects all "restricted" tourneys (private MTTs) that are run there, not just FTR's.

---
Effective July 1st we are going to create all real money tourneys with the fee collected from the prize pool, as opposed to being added on to the buy-in amount. For example, a $2.00 + $0.20 tourney will now be $2 total, and we will collect 9%, or $0.18, from the prize pool. This will bring these tourneys inline with the rest of our real money tournaments, and will be less costly for your members.

Hmm, so does this mean instead of winning $40 we will be winning like $38.34? I think this is dumb, but can you just make it a $5.50 buy-in and 9% will be 50 cents?

Well 9% is less than 10% that they were taking out before for the 5.50's

But what about the higher tournements like 200+15 ? 9% would be more.

Seems kind of silly to me. But then again, you can order food in thier poker software.

you can also choose what color deck you want which is a nice feature, also...i personally like having the coke or the hot dog by my side throughout a rigorous tourney
