Tournament of Champions - Sunday, August 29 3:00 PM ET - NLH $11
** NOTE - Game 11 moved to Saturday because Sunday is the Fourth of July.
I'm also thinking of trying a mix every other week between Saturday and Sunday? So Game 1 would be Sunday, Game 3 Saturday, Game 5 Sunday, Game 7 Saturday... etc. Would that be too confusing?
Main event would be an interesting experiment.

What is points system?
|

That's how winners play; we convince the other guy he's making all the right moves.

The more I think about it, the more I like alternating between Saturday and Sunday. It gives more flexibility and would help us determine which day is better. Only problem is it may be confusing and hard to remember which day it will be played on, but just takes a few seconds to look.

i don't like the Saturday option as I REALLY doubt people will want to stop their Saturday activities to play Gauntlet events. Isn't Saturday the lightest traffic day on the poker sites by far?

Btw, other than that I REALLY like that the non NLHE events are lower priced (I think that will drive up attendance) and I agree that the Main Event may be interesting (Are we going to recognize that person separately from the season winner?).

I like the idea too, but I think the main event is gonna have the lowest particpation because 1) some ppl won't wanna pay that much and 2) ppl won't play if they're out of contention anyway. Unless the main event has some crazy bounties or bonus prizes, I don't see it being very popular.
I hate the Sunday afternoon games. I'm either doing something else or I'm playing tournaments. It seems to me that ppl are just as likely to have Sunday activities as they are Saturday activities. And then you add the fact that Sunday is a tournament grinder's big day and you have no tournament players in the Sunday games.

Yeah but we can't be sure. Some people think it will be great and others not so much. Only way we can know is to test it. I think we will do 6 games on Sunday and 6 games on Saturday.

"Play as many games as you want, top 12 count"
On the face of it this looks like a sensible way to increase participation but it makes it practically impossible for EU players to do well. If I make every single Saturday/Sunday, 12 is the most I can play.

Maybe you could cap the number of tourneys you can play that don't count somehow to help even it out for those who can't make as many?

what happens if a euro wins the gauntlet and then, by default, the euro gauntlet title? that would be so rigged.

Looks great!
Not sure if I'll be able to play more than ~1/2 of the Wed. games & probably none of the weekend ones... BUT I will give it a shot anyways as it'll be fun/interesting to play. I plan on running really good on Wed.

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum so you won't know me but I would love to join in on this, and by the time its done, hopefully you WILL know me :P. One problem though...I am having a tough time registering to it. I clicked the registration link and entered my FTR username, password, and pokerstars account name, but its telling me I am entering the wrong things. Is there something I don't know about this? A PM woud be really great, because as I said, I would LOVE to join this and see how I do. Thanks in advance guys.

And I'll just throw an idea out there...the weekend games IMO are all pretty early. 3 PM is right in the middle of the day where most people will be doing things. I know I work both saturday and sunday, and I get off at 6 PM both days, which sucks cause I would hate to miss out on these games. I guess its already set in stone but maybe for future seasons we can push the time up to maybe 8 or 9 PM. This way people are home from shopping, working, whatever, and can chill for the night and play poker.

I looked at the schedule and I'm disappointed. I wanted to play all the PLO games but I can't play the Wed or Sun PLO coming up.

so much for promoting Gauntlet games I guess.
As with Courtie was also disappointed when I noticed that the weekend game was supposed to be yesterday as I had TOTALLY blocked out time today to play.

fwiw I think we should give it another week or two before changing (I probably could have figured out how to make it yesterday), however with the weekend dates switching every week it probably makes sense to post a reminder on Friday's.
