I like it.

Using a derivative of the PokerStars TLB system means they can run freerolls again (since the point totals awarded are so low) and also means that winning the first tournament of the season doesn't put you at a huge advantage (since it's the largest).

If you look back at Gauntlets I-III, the eventual season winners all finished top II in the first tournament (exception of Gauntlet I, where Game 2 was larger than Game 1 - and LeFou won Game 2).

Now, everyone gets points just for playing, so there's real incentive to play all 12.
