CARDSON
I got very lucky at several key points in this tourney. Caught more than my share of big hands. My bubble play was HORRIBLE - played way too tight and got pushed around by bigger stacks. Got lucky and finished 3rd.
Big preflop hands:
AA - 2 times
KK - 3 times
QQ - 2 times
JJ - 1 time
181 hands, VPIP - 19.89%, Won at SD - 78.57 %
My best game is limit, but I caught extremely good cards. Played much too passively once the blinds got high.
Here's a few key hands for me:
HAND 1 - Made quad 8's for a nice start to the tourney. Did I play these too slow? I wanted to make sure I got callers.

I'm definitely not proud of my finish, but I'll take it. I'm sure Realmagics still banging his head against his keyboard.

yeah, hand 5.. i'd have preferred that to be a Th so I had an open-ended SF draw... but it was a semi-bluff. And I figured that if someone called, well, I'd need to double up soon anyway if I wanted to get deep in the table (though this might have been quite the fallacy). Really I was just hoping to take it down right there. Good call. (And good game too)

You are so correct I have no idea what the hell I was thinking on that last one.... good lord.... I was temporarily possessed by a 'drunken fish who had seen to many poker movies.... or maybe not enough'. In hindsight.... like 3 seconds after my body involuntarily went all-in on nothing (given the bd) w/ someone who obviously had me beat... that was one of the worst plays I have made. Smart playing by you though.. lhoney2. Also, I want to comment on your quad '8's. You played that very well b/c I did not put you on that at all and if I remember correct.. gave you quite a few chips. Being on the losing end of that hand, I thought you played it well. Playing well is a good thing... but learning from our mistakes (as I did in this tourny) is how we take our poker skills to the next level..... in my humble opinion. May we all see each other sitting across from one another at many WSOP final tables in the very near future!!! Great tournament again... to all who played. I had a blast and learned a LOT!!

To be quite honest with you, I just hope to be sitting across from you at the next final table of the FTR Gauntlet. I started playing poker 3 months ago at the .01/.02 limit game, and have only just now made the jump to .50/1.00, so my goals are a little lower at the moment.
I thought I got just about the max amount of dollars out of the quad 8 hand.
When holding mediocre hands, I was seriously outplayed. Robe and Dawg were putting big moves on all of us at the final table. I knew they didn't have a hand most of the time, but I also didn't want to risk my stack to call them.
I would love to see their hand histories from the tournament, but wouldn't be surprised if they wouldn't want to show. That would be valuable information.
It was a lot of fun, and I did learn a lot. The money was nice, but the league points and bragging rights will be even more fun.

Everyone played really well at the final table. I felt like we hovered around 5 or 6 for quite a while. There was some great big stack play. I got beat up pretty well when I'd try to make any move with my meager stack.
Can't wait to do it again.

Can't wait til Wednesday, I'll be playing again and hopefully last longer than 20 seconds Can't remember the last time I flopped a set and lost to a higher set, but at least I wasn't playing some big stakes cash game, coulda hurt a lot more.
Anyway, it was a great turnout, and really looking forward to the next one...which is just two days away! Oh yeah!
btw - Xianti made mention of the trophy - it's gonna be awesome...
