I'm interested in conversing with all ye folk while we play, but when I type stuff in the chat bar nothing happens. I also don't see other people's comments? Is there a setting somewhere that I don't know about?

Or is it just my good ole W98 (no poking fun, please)?

That's weird you probably have it set to block off all chat. If anything, you should email support@pokerstars.com and ask whats up

the only other thing is that on poker stars you need a table buy-in to chat.
so if you don't have any money you can't chat on real money tables.

Go over your image and right click. If Block Chat is checked, uncheck it.
More likely you need to left click on the chips at the top center of the board and uncheck player chat and observe chat. That should do it.

The race doesn't always go to the fastest or the strongest but it's a pretty good bet.
