I will be there. If we don't have a good turnout then something is seriously wrong and we need to re-examine the Guantlet format.

Is it because as we get closer to the end the players that can't win don't play??
May be you should make the points a set amount and not based on turnout.
or.... relook at the games played number. with only 6 games left over half the field will never make it to 12.

Why is it a penny for your thoughts but
you have to put your 2 cents in??
Somebody's making a penny!!

Listen, post about the games in the community, hope on IRC and start IMing people the day of the games.
Also, tell them I'm playing and its guarenteed big turnout.

Smithers, use the amnesia ray.
You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.

I think you make some excellent points. It really hurts the players who have a chance to catch the top point leaders but can't because there aren't enough points to win in these late games. Since we can only enter 12 tourneys each season it hurts those of us who didn't enter as many earlier ones.
In my case I am in good position and have 5 tourneys (out of 6 left) that I can enter. But, if the number of people who enter the remaining ones are so low (4 players the other day!) then I have no shot. It seems like I'm being penalized (by the way the point system is set up) because I didn't play in as many of the earlier tourneys as did the two leaders.

Can't do that. I actually have a life outside this forum.
Anyways, I joined this forum because I heard about FTR and the Gauntlet from someone I played against here in LA. I play in the Gauntlet not for the money but because the players here are so much better than the ones I usually play against. I feel like I'm playing a real tournament and not just an All In fest. To me, winning the Gauntlet would actually have some real meaning, as opposed to a SnG that I win and forget about in 30 minutes.
Playing in the Gauntlet and posting on FTR are two separate things, in my mind. I honestly don't think that I have very much to add to what has already been posted here and on other forums ad nauseam. How many times can someone read about how a QQ was broken by a J8o call AI in the late rounds of a tourney? Or how in a ring game he raised 4xBB PF and was called and the flop came AJx, caller checked, what did he have? If I spent all my time reading and replying to those I wouldn't have any time left to actually play poker.
Poker is supposed to be fun and challenging. I prefer to keep the fun part at the fore.

Okay, this just means you're obligated to play on Wednesday. Don't disappoint me
