This league is your chance to develop your tournament skills and play along with your friends here at FTR!
The seventh season of our online poker league is about to start! It is open to all registered FTR Poker Forum members with PokerStars accounts. There is no fee to join other than the normal buy-in for each tournament you choose to play. If you don't already have a PokerStars account, please click here.- Beginning Sunday, 18 May 2008, we have one league game every Sunday at 3:00pm ET and Wednesday at 10:00pm ET.
- All FTR Gauntlet game dates and times are detailed in our FTR Calendar. Upcoming games are also shown on our Gauntlet home page.
- The season consists of 32 private freezeout tournaments (or "games") at PokerStars. This season, you may choose from 16 full-table No-Limit Hold'em, 8 6-max No-Limit Hold'em, 4 heads-up No-Limit Hold'em, and 4 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo games. The buy-in for each is $10+$1. Throughout the season, there will be special surprises like bounties and other bonus prizes announced during select games.
- Each player may choose from any of these 32 games to play -- up to a maximum of 16 games. To have the best chance of ranking among the season's top 10 and be eligible for the post-season FyrFytr Tournament Of Champions, you should play 16 games. It is not, however, mandatory.
- The season's leaderboard standings are determined by a point system based on this formula:
Points = 10 * [sqrt(n)/sqrt(k)] * [1+log(b+0.25)]
n is the number of entrants
k is the place of finish (k=1 for the 1st place finisher, and so on)
b is the buy-in amount in dollars (excluding entry fee).
ALL players of each game receive points for participating. This system rewards excellent performance and frequent play.
Click here to calculate sample points.
- The FTR Gauntlet Leaderboard will be updated after each game with the players ranked by league points earned.
Each tourney's prize money goes to the winners of that game like any other tournament. You may play fewer than 16 games and you still win cash if you finish in the money, but for the FTR Gauntlet Championship, the trophy and eternal bragging rights, you are playing to accumulate as many points as you can and earn your place at the top of the leaderboard.
At the end of the season, the top 3 on the leaderboard will be awarded additional money and prizes and the player with the most league points will claim the FTR Gauntlet Championship and our coveted, pure-crystal FTR Gauntlet Trophy! Before you can play in any of the league games, you MUST register here:
LEAGUE REGISTRATION (click here)
Registration is required ONLY ONCE for all seasons of the Gauntlet. However, you will need to re-register if your PokerStars name is different from last season. Re-registering with any new info mid-season will invalidate your point calculation and you will be ineligible for league placement and prizes.
PASSWORDS
Once registered for our league, you will have immediate access to the next game's password.
First, be sure that you are logged in to this poker forum.
Then, go to the FTR Gauntlet Schedule page and click Get Tournament Password next to the game in the list.
DO NOT share these passwords with anyone!
Sharing of passwords may result in forfeiture of league participation.
Gauntlet Email Reminders
With this season being a mixed-games format, we highly urge you to join the Gauntlet Mail usergroup. By joining this group, you will receive reminder emails prior to each game advising you of the upcoming game and the type of game to be played. This mailing list is also good if you tend to forget about game day. You may add or remove yourself from this group at any time. Make sure your email address is up-to-date in your Profile. Click here to join the Gauntlet Mail usergroup.
