As previously mentioned, I've been idle for the last 2 weeks, and really appreciate the game blog. Great stuff in your own write! Look forward to future reporting.

Bump, game 12 now up. This one took a while longer as I have been busy and it was tougher to write not actually viewing the tourn. Congrats swiggggggggggggggggggggidy.

Nice work,

A lot to learn for me there, I had a big chip lead when the final table began but played it very weak. Nothing happened for me on the final stretch. Barely won a hand.

This hand illustrates my bad play nicely

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to swiggidy [3s Jc]
geno9: folds
I_Lie_2_U: folds
kingnat: folds
C2Knuckles: folds
PomPey97: raises 200 to 400
swiggidy said, “have you had the boston harbor?”
swiggidy: calls 200
*** FLOP *** [Tc 4s Kd]
PomPey97: bets 400
swiggidy: raises 1000 to 1400
PomPey97: folds
PomPey97 said, “nb”
swiggidy collected 1750 from pot
swiggidy: doesn’t show hand

I held Q 10 here but folded to Swiggidys large bet, nice bet as I said but weak play from me.

I should have raised more pre flop if I was gonna play this hand.

Another good write up gmml. In fact I was quite enjoying it especially when Badger deservedly won the "WTF" award this time. However scrolling to the end of this tourney review.......

I don't think the second hand was worthy of a donk although I did get lucky. Next week back to ABC poker and stay away from the headlines. Its not doing my self esteem any good!

thanks for the nice words.

haha yeah, second hand is completely standard, you def played it fine. but "donk of the night" just means the worst bad beat of the tourn, and i couldn't decide between the 2. haha sorry about the self esteem

nah just a cooler, only thing i didnt like was the minraise preflop. tptk vs set is pretty much just bad luck in a sng. there may be a chance to get away from it, but it's slim.

btw - OUCH

Leg, I've got to laugh at how you generously describe my JJ<66 as "unlucky" when the only two other hands I took part in in your rundown involved me sucking out with a river flush and a river straight vs better players with better hands

btw, reverse my Stars name, then visit Wikipedia and see if you can make the sporting connection

I think the names I have are confusing, I should change them. "WTF was he Thinking?" is suppose to be the donk move of the tourn, and "donk of the night" is suppose to be the worst beat of the tourn. I'll call it Bad Beat of the Night from now on prolly.

Thanks leg! I really enjoyed reading those.

It was a fun game on wednesday testing myself against Sauce123. Poker sure is a different game when u know the other guy is a strong player. It's so much easier beating up on donks

Leg,

You do a great job on the commentary. That was quite entertaining. I am enjoying the FTR Guantlet tourneys. Just wish I had found FTR a bit sooner so I would have a chance to take it down. Maybe next time around but I am going to make my presense known until then.

Deuces,

Curtom

Just wanted to say that I love the commentaries, but I have a question?
Why was I left off the leaderboard for the game 19 summary?

I've worked very hard over the last three years, with help only from the people here at FTR on the forums (I'm not a member of any other site), to get to a level where I can compete against the quality players here.

I don't post much, except sometimes in the community, because I don't feel I'm playing at a level where the more complex ideas can come into play, and there's only so many times one can ask "Did I play this AKs right" before it gets to be all the same. I owe most of my small success at poker to the help I have received from all of the people here, and I don't want to waste people's time asking if my move was right when my opponents can't even tell I'm making a move. That's why I look forward to the gauntlet, so I can actually get into a game where the players are truly excellent.

I know it sounds like I'm whining, and I suppose I am a bit, but I was choked to see that I wasn't included in the most recent leaderboard. If it's that you feel that I play like a nit, you're entitled to that opinion (I know I'm weak-tight, it works for me) , but I think I've earned a mention at least. My average finish is the lowest of any player who has played more than 2 games, and I've steadily been creeping up the leaderboard. Not too shabby for someone who can't afford to have more than $200 in his online account.

I know my game isn't at the same level as many of the people here, but isn't that just the point of the Gauntlet? To help develop our play? I just think excluding someone who has worked very hard to get to this level - look at my previous years finishes - well, it's just discouraging not to have that acknowledged.

????

The leaderboard shows who is in the top 10 of the league prior to the start of the game. It's not a biased thing man, if you're not in the top 10, you won't be shown in the leaderboard; nothing more! I see you're in the top 10 after game 19, but that will be included in the game 20 summary - it is always one week behind. There may be times when I sound like I only include hands that are of the regular or something, but that's simply because the regulars play a lot more aggressive and are involved in more hands. I'm not trying to ignore anyone or their results!

"....get to a level where I can compete against the quality players here."

This is where I'm finding the jocularity!

Would someone please point me to the quality players area here 'cause I sure as hell am having a hard time sorting them out in the Gauntlet!
Hell yeah, I'm still on tilt. You got a problem wit dat!
