This probably won't do any good, but I am curious and I don't think a poll was ever run so ...
What's your preference?

So those of us that can only play saturday (and not just a "oh I can't make saturday cause I wanna do something else" style can't make it) going to get a refund on our entries to game 2 and 4 if the rest of the weekend games after today (that's 5am sunday morning ftw) get moved to sunday?
[EDIT]
Meh...whatever really. Just realized that it's probably more +EV for me to not worry bout this and put the entry fee towards events that I don't have to force myself to be awake for.
Good luck to everyone with the sunday events.

Thats about the cheapest most petty thing I have read in recent history here.....That being said, the season was set up with Saturday as the day for the weekennd games and I think it should stay that way. If it was going to be decided democraticly then shouldnt that have been done before people make plans for the season?
There is no day that works perfectly for everyone, that is one of the reasons why there are two games per week, if you want to play badly enough it seems to me that you will make it a priority and make arrangementsto play....and if you are so busy that you can't make arrangements to play then I suppose you shouldnt be so concerned about a poker league anyway.

Yes Dav, you're right...it was a fairly cheap, petty and blunt comment and not the right way to do it (or the way I really wanted to word it either) but it got across the point I wanted to make in a way I doubt anything else would have.
After the last thread regarding what day the weekend match would be on I made the decision that since I could make all 12 weekend matches, even though it meant 5am starts on a sunday to enter them, I would enter all 12 because I like the concept and I want to play but I wouldn't do so if I had no chance of playing in all the games.
Based on that I entered the first one, now come here 30 minutes before the 4th is to start to find that Xian is going to move the weekend to sunday if the majority decide to do so. To say I am unimpressed would be an understatement and to be honest, yes I do feel annoyed that I will have paid to enter the 2nd (and now the 4th) events and they are essentially meaningless in terms of the league.
You're right, there is no one day that will suit everybody, and that was accepted before the decision to make the weekend matches a saturday was decided. If the decision then was they were on sunday (or 1/2 on sunday) then cool, we all know and make our choices based on that, but to change things after the first weekend event is not right and if I have to make cheap, petty shots about it to get some people to see the point then I'm going to do it and take the flak for doing so.

Yeah, they do make good points. The games should stay on Saturdays barring a HUGE lean towards Sunday. Looks close so far.
Next season though ... hmm ...

Umm...compromise, anyone? Alternate. You can only play half the games anyway, so play the half that fit your schedule. There. Done like dinner.
I think it sucks that the defending champ can't defend.

There are 9 more games to be played on Saturday.
Could I make a suggestion to have maybe 3-4 of them switched to Sunday to attempt to Compromise as Warpe suggested? Would it be possible to switch just a few of them? Possibly 2 of the July/August games moved to Sunday?
Thoughts?

As a compromise, how about this:
1. 1/2 the weekend games get moved to sunday 3pm
2. 1/2 the weekday games get moved to friday 10pm for those weeks that the weekend game is on sunday
That to me seems like a fair compromise all round.

I think that, as with anything, we will evolve to a schedule that works for a majority of the people.
FWIW, I am ok with a switch as long as there is AT LEAST 3-4 weeks notice so I can try to plan out which games I am going to try and get to.

Another option would be to add Sunday games, since everyone can only play 12 games max, adding additional games would only possibly descrease the number of entrants on the weekend games.
So you could have games on:
Wednesday 10 PM
Saturday 3 PM
Sunday 3 PM

OK, I've voted Sunday. Which is what I would have liked the season to start with for weekend games.
After reading Dav's and Kyn's posts I can see that changing the schedule now would probably cause too much aggro. So I am happy to conceed that this season is played out on Wednesday and Saturday.
There is no point in having half the weekend games on Staurday and the other half on Sunday as this compromise doesn't help anyone except those players in America/Canada (only 6 games for Aussies and Kiwis on Sunday morning and 6 for Europeans if they can't do Saturday evenings coz they're pissed/not at home).
Maybe the weekend games should alternate between Saturday/Sunday for each league season? Saturday this season, Sunday next, Saturday season after that?
Although if the numbers of entrants for this season's Saturday events don't pick up, how can this day be justified for a handful of Antipodean players?

I really like this idea, although I'm not sure how out nifty Gauntlet website works....it may really mess things up, and it will require Xianti to set up 10 or so more private tourneys so the season ends at the proper time......but this is a good compromise. Frankly none of the days and times are particularly convienent for me, but as I sad I make a point of setting the time aside and more otions....are well, more options.
