I'm not sure how many of you have heard about or done this but there is a site (www.freeipod.com) that actually offers a way to get an iPod basically for free. The catch being you must sign up for either a free trial offer for a third party company, or something along those lines. After that you must get 5 people (I think its 5) to also sign up using your link as a refferal. I know it sounds shady but I know that its a legit operation and the company doing it makes a profit from the third party companies. I also saw a story about it on the news and they confirmed it was legit.

So I was thinking, someone from FTR could create an account and other FTR members could register under the referal link. Then those who partciated in geting the iPod would be eligible to win it based on whoever scores the most gauntlet points, or by some other criteria.

If anyone has done this before please tell me how it worked out and if you think a contest like this would be a good idea. Or if anyone is actually interested let me know.

The offers you need to sign up to are pretty dodgy.

They're like the 'buy 5 cd's of your choice for £10', then at the bottom in tiny writing it'll mention that you need to subscribe for a year buying 3 cd's a month for a year at full price.

Or somethnig of a similar doing.

Thats what I was afraid of, is there any offers that are 100% free?

I have to say its legit...

I just received my free 30gig Video ipod last Tuesday from that same site, it was delivered via DHL. Worked great, I just signed up for Blockbuster online for a like $10, watched a couple of movies and there was my signup. Easy.

But it does work.

Let me know if you want to try it, It would be nice if you sign up under someone and I have a bud thats trying to do it. Might as well help someone else out to get signed up.

But good idea with the Ipod prize.

Cool Djanvk, For a $10 fee I'd take my 1 in 6 chance for an iPod.

Yea I was a bit leary at first but then gave it a shot because I figured why not it can't hurt. And it worked now I'm trying for the freedesktoppc and the freexbox360, I was made a believer when that DHL guy rang my door. And you get a Free T-Shirt...whoo hoo.

ON a side note, the video ipod is GREAT. My first Ipod and in rox...

let me know if you want to do this. Like I said I have a bud that could use a referral.

yeah, i'm interested. I thought about doing that with my friends awhile ago but we never got it started.

It would be handy to have some info on what offers are no-strings (or at least very few strings, I don't really mind paying $10 for an iPod), and then we could get organized.

this site can give you a idea of what offers there are

www.ratetheoffers.com

the real.com real supperpass works real well, actually sounds like most people never pay a cent with this one.

Here is my link. I would appreciate anybody who wants to try the offer to go under my link to help me out too.

We could try a link sort of thing? When mine is all cleared out, we could go onto the next person, then the next etc.

Just to add on, I'm pretty sure the easiest for you guys to do is sign up to the WPT thing, and deposit £25. I believe that's the easiest way to complete an offer.

I would be willing to reinburse people half of whatever offer they sign up for, as long as its under 30$
Thanks.
