I am thinking of buying the Dell XPS 600 system with the 20" 2001FP monitor for poker+gaming at some point. Are there better systems out there? Give suggestions, custom systems accepted. Good bang for my buck?

Is the flatscreen response time a problem for gaming?

I've got a high end Dell for my poker playing, I use the 19" (1901FP) Dell screen and it's superb. Even on "fast" games like Grand Theft Auto there is no visible delay, those days are pretty much long gone for modern day LCD. However, you often can't get the same resolution on a TFT as you can with a CRT, so check that you can fit multiple tables onscreen without overlapping if you got for TFT. For example on my screen with a decent graphics card, max res is 1280x1024 which isn't enough to fit 4 tables on the screen without overlapping, which means even 2 tables overlap. This limitation is due to the screen and not the graphics card.
I've got a Precision 650 with dual Xeon processors, a little overkill I know for web browsing and poker playing!

Thats a good point Satan thats why I will probably go with the Dell Ultrasharp 2001FP 20" because it can do 1600x1200 and you can 4-table on that without overlap (or so they say).

Hmmm, I think I need to buy a 20". That's my new goal - earn enough from poker to buy a 20" screen. Ok that's a lie, my current goal is to earn back all the money I lost when I attempted the £3.00 SNG's, but my 2nd goal is to buy a new monitor

if you want a high end system, why dell? AMD all teh way.. atleast at this point and time, AMD is the way to go. And Im not sure but I dont htink that the XPS's have SLI do they? ibuypower.com is decent stuff, not a big name like falcon northwest or alienware, but not overpriced as much.
