(disclaimer: I'm a PlayStation fanboy, I'm not going to lie. I had a PS1 and PS2, then January 2005 some asshole decided to break into my house and steal both including all of my games.)

I'm sure this has been done before, but which system is better, and why?

I play mostly sports games.

Please help me.

Right now 360 because PS3 has like no good exclusive games. In a year things will probably be different once MGS4, FF 13, God of War 3, and Gran Turismo get released but no one really knows which system is going to win in the long run. Get both.

I was a PS fanboy as well but bought the 360 elite because of -

- Games, there just arn't enough on the PS3 yet and most games are multi platform;
-Online, you have to pay but there are better games which leads to my 3...
-Halo. You say you like sports but the online part of Halo is like crack cocaine.

To be honest a lot of the exclusivity deals on games are gone so it doesn't really matter as to my untrained eyes games on both machines look pretty much the same.

There were worries about the reliability of the x-box - google 'red ring of death' - but Microsoft have a good recall policy from what I read.

I was also swayed by price, when I bought the PS3 was a lot more pricey for basically the same thing minus halo. Although the ps3 price (in the UK at least) has come down, but I *think* my elite still has a bigger harddrive.

I am not mad keen on graphics anyway as am playing on a non-HD TV.

I am happy and would buy the same again but it's one of those eternal questions, you just have to pick a side and jump. But if you pick PS3 we cant be mates, OK!!

I've heard this before, that Xbox 360 is king right now but next Christmas the PS3 will rule the world. Hmm.

What's best for SPORTS GAMES, like RIGHT NOW? In the past PlayStation sports games were always superior to Xbox games, is that still the same?

Who has the best online features?

All the EA Sports games use identical graphic engines on both systems but on XBox 360 they run at 60 frames per second while on PS3 they only run at 30 frames per second. This doesn't kill the PS3 versions by any means but if you go from the 360 version of say Madden to the PS3 version, it will seem a bit choppy to you. Maybe in the future EA Sports will spend enough time to iron out this problem with the PS3 versions but right now, that's how it is.

Also, the 360 online is better because there are just a lot more people on it so it's really easy to find a game. The advantage the PS3 has of course is that their online service is free but really $50 isn't that much for a whole year of service.

I wouldn't bank on PS3 ruling the world next Christmas. It will clearly be more popular than it is now but most likely it will finally catch up to the 360 and Wii in sales and it will be a pretty even 3-horse race.
