wanted: xbox 360 friends to play COD4 with. I suck absolutely terribly and need others who suck terribly. Im sick of getting pizzowned by 12 year olds.

thinking about ordering a xbox360 or ps3. at this point since blu ray won the race i cant really think of a reason to get a 360, plus i like to avoid patronizing microsoft whenever possible. what are the perks of 360 vs. ps3?

Depends what you want to get out of the system. I have both and I spend most of my time playing 360 because of the online aspect of of the thing. Yeah you have to pay for XBox Live ($50 / year) but it really is THAT much better than Sony's service. If you are going to spend your time playing online multiplayer games, especially FPS's 360 wins by far.
Now obviously if you aren't as competitive and want more of a media center, than PS3 is better. Obviously, having a Blu-Ray player is a huge plus.
There are a lot of great games that are available on both but if you look at the console exclusive games, PS3 can't touch 360 right now.

I still think it will depend on what type of games you like. 360 will always be king of FPS's imo (besides PC which is the best obv) because the controller just feels so much better for an FPS than PS3's (but PS3's is better for like Devil May Cry 4, and 3rd person games in general I think). PS3 has some sick games on the horizon: Gran Turismo 5, Metal Gear Solid 4, FF 13, God of War 3, but again, none of these are FPS's.

I don't really follow the console wars anymore but those games you just listed off really might make me get a ps3. Especially FF13 and Gran Turismo 5. I've loved every single FF that's ever come out, from FF1 on NES to FFXI, online MMORPG.
