Seems like a good place to ask this question since a bunch of you guys have these things. I'm wondering if one can put .wmv files onto a usb flash drive, plug it in to the xbox 360 and have the 360 read from the flash drive and play the videos on your tv/monitor. Also, I read that you can't transfer files via a usb flash drive. If so then do you just transfer files over your network from your pc to it?

The 360 can see all the media you have on your computer anyway if its in the same router/network. It just streams everything off of it fine, there is really no reason to keep it on the 360 if you have your computer on the same connection and its already on your computer anyway. I have a PS3 and a 360 and I like the way the 360 handles media a lot more than the ps3.

Care to explain more about this? Does the PS3 not see all your media through the network or something?

It sees it all but can't play it all. For one it can't play wmv files. At least it couldnt last time I tried and I doubt its changed since I cant see microsoft ever licensing the format to them or however that works. You may be able to download other things to do it since I know you can run linux on the PS3 but the 360 has handled all my media so well naturally that I've never had the need to look into my PS3 media capabilities more. Most of everything I play though is mp3s and wmvs so as soon as the PS3 couldnt do that(wmvs) I sort of stopped messing with it.

Though I must admit I play the 360 a helluva lot more so I know more about what it can do.
