Ok, so background first. My roomy randomly has this meat truck stop by his house and sell him an assortment of packaged (unlabled) meats at bargain price. Hes done it before and has yet to have any kind of problem so wtf, why not.
So.....he comes back to our apt with bags of frozen meat. I can identify things like different kinds of steak, some porkchops, chicken, and others. I was in the mood for some red meat, so i took a package out, and cooked it up.
Well...as it cooked...it changed from what i thought was some kind of cow thing to what i thought was some kind of chicken thing. What i mean is, Instead of the darkish brown color cow usually gets, it turned white!! AND it was springy to the touch! like...elastic ish...
It took forever to cook, much longer than like beef or something...and was one of the most delicious things ive ever tasted. Texture resembled that of a porkchop but tasted almost like duck..also was really fatty
WTF is this meat?????

uhh.. almost certainly veal. What cut though? Im not sure. Need more detail. It could be sweatbreads, but if you didnt clean and cook these properly Im not sure you would have enjoyed the texture...

no bones, was shaped like a rectangle sorta how steak would be packaged. i must know what this is!
to saulpaul, kinda looked like that...but not really. was one piece, thicker than a pork chop. I know for sure it isnt any kind of fish thing, but ive never had deer, lamb, veal, or any weirdesk meat like dog. its driving me insane.
about the fat thing, before it was cooked id say about 20% was fat, distributed exactly like it might on a piece of steak. i might have more hidden in the freezer somewhere. if i do ill take pictures...I MUST KNOW WHAT THIS IS

o, also the meat is all prepackaged, cleaned, and has some kind of marinade. so really all i did was put some bbq on it when it was cooking and ate it lol. but really...what looks like beef, cooks like chicken and feels like pork? ack

It is pork, my mom buys those frozen off the truck meats and im 95% positive it was some type of pork product. Every time she buys some and cooks it, some of the "beef" product cooks up just like jkds. It is also square like the described.

also, the reason it is colored like beef is the solution they use to pack it in. It is a caramel colored brine the flavors and preserves the frozen meat.
