this is something i semi developed semi stole off the internet, i wanted pizza but had no cash on me and it was too late for delivery. so i made some. the bitch with making scratch pizza is getting yeast, proofing it. takes hours to make the dough and ish so i said to hell with that
yeast-free pizza dough
2c flour
2 tsp baking powder (not baking soda that arm and hammer stuff)
tsp salt
1/4 cup olive oil (tastes the best)
2/3 cup milk
sauce/cheese/toppings to dress it up
mix together the flour, baking soda and salt. pour in oil and milk and knead into a ball (it doesnt entirely stick together, its a bit flaky its not sticky like real dough.) lightly oil a pan and throw the ball onto it. the dough will be stretched very thin and a rolling pin works great here.
if when forming your dough its too dry or to wet add more milk or flour to compensate.
add toppings and cook in a 400F oven for about 15 minutes.

There are a ton of gluten free and yeast free doughs on the net, try a few. They are so different in texture and taste that you really need to try a couple.
I have tried the pita thing, it's ok, but it's just that, OK. I would rather use tortilla's and make antojitos or some other quesadilla's.

1. i have no idea where to find pitas in my grocery store and it seems like it would be quite a challenge to find them because i probably won't ask. in fact, i'm only about 98% sure that i know what a pita actually is.
2. i have no idea what kind of tomato sauce to use
3. cheese: see #2
4. i don't know how long to put it in the oven or at what temperature.
5. what if i want to do other, possibly somewhat obscure toppings on, e.g. chicken? what would be the best kind to get and how would i cook it beforehand (i'm assuming i would)?
THANK YOU BOOST FOR TAKING THE TIME TO ANSWER ALL MY STOOPID QUESTIONS

Boost; we all get you are in culinary school and all.. thats terrific. Most of us rally don't care to do things the proper way. I respect the fact you enjoy making your pizza your way and that is fine but that isn't a reason to say "takes hours? WTF are you smoking?" and "Milk in it.. why?".
Im not being sensitive, I am just trying to find out what crawled up your ass. Try making it, eat it, and then talk about it.
Lukkake; Pitas are in the bread section. The word pita will be found on the front of the bag. they are circles.
there are little cans of 'pizza sauce' in the tomato sauce section. They are significantly smaller. Cheese, most of the time use mozzarella, its the white kind. Put it in the oven at 375-400F until the cheese has melted and the pita is crispy (i guess). If you are putting things like chicken or pork that you can't normally eat raw, precook it before you put it on. I prefer dark (thigh) chicken but the white meat (breast) is also fine. Same goes with bacon, other pork products, etc. Anything else like veggies or cold cuts you don't need to cook.
I duno if that was a level.

it definitely was not a level but i think i intentionally dumbed myself down a little bit. anyway, this was very helpful and i think i'm going to pick some of this stuff at the grocery store next time i go.

milk in your dough is going to make it rich, and I dont see how this benefits a pizza dough.
I dont need to try and make it, it sounds like shit.

Are there no Pita fast food joints in the states or something? That's all gym type people eat up here. Or did you fall off the wagon?

haha I think Im just really spoiled living in chicago. Like youve obviously had a gyros and enjoy it, but you had to mention that you have a greek town. In chicago you find them all over the place. We have a pretty big greektown, but I can think of 2 places within 3 miles that serve gyros...

i made the pizza because i was busto and it was probably too late for delivery. it was a quick solution to my problem and only took me 10 minutes from the time i started to when i put it in the oven.
and i don't think being stoned or drunk would make me very good at coming up with any good ideas. id usually just eat a bag of bread, or a jar of pickles.

its a shithole. if youre ever there though, go visit the house from the movie "A Christmas Story." You know the one they play on TNT every christmas for 24 hours straight? yeah, the house where they filmed the movie is there and it was worth checking out while i was in cleveland a few weeks ago.

lol i definately didn't mean my 'recipe' to seem like it was an awesome meal.
just a quick easy way to make something resembling pizza. personally i like it quite a bit though.
as for how to do it, it has been pretty well explained. basically put whatever the hell you want on it.
personally i dont use pizza sauce usually, isntead i got with bbq sauce, chicken, onion, jalapenos, cheddar cheese....mostly just because these are things i always have around.
by no means amazing, but decent for 10 minutes work.
...and seriously, wtf, who doesn't know what a pita is lol
also, you can always make good pizza dough and freeze it

English muffins are better than pitas for a cheater's pizza.
I don't think boost realized that the op's recipe was specifically just to bypass waiting for real pizza dough to rise. It basically just looks like a biscuit recipe. Either that, or boost is just an ass.
I also make pizza dough frequently, and it really isn't that hard once you get the hang of it. One hint is to let the yeast sit in hot water for like 5 minutes before adding your flour, sugar, salt, and spices (I add garlic, oregano, rosemary, and basil to my dough and generally get rave reviews).

So simple.
Btw, don't you guys have the yeast powder stuff? Makes the "getting yeast" problem go away since it can sit in your kitchen for a year and a half waiting for you to get the pizza urge.
