What's the next step? Will we have a set-up like on XBox Live or will we have an even more interactive game that requires perhaps a video camera on one end transmitting to a server for a real appearing game?
The reason I ask is because Doyle Brunson mentions something about it in his latest release of Super System II.
Opinions?

Your ovaries in high gear right now hydro? Cause, like, "ovation" is a fairly well known word in this here English language.

And not to be condescending to Mr. Brunson (like he'll ever read this~), but olderfolk tend to have overblown imaginations when it comes to technology, and as my wife points out, Mr. Brunson is friends with Noah (of the Ark fame), so he certainly qualifies.
Fortunatly, memory is one of the first things to go so they don't remember their hopes and aren't disappointed.

I know technical feasibility, I program for a living. Feasibility isn't the problem here, it's customer desire and interest. For instance, I doubt anyone really want to see my shirtless self on the other side of the virtual table, let alone would they like to pay for a camera for the privilage. That's all regardless of the bandwidth that'd be required to pull it off, which I'm sure poker rooms would just love to soak up for free - let alone alienate the clientbase that doesn't have sufficient bandwidth.
As for an Xbox-live like system, what does that even mean? How is even the most basic online poker software not already filling every bit of functionality Live has...which is to get people into games with eachother.
But who knows? Maybe people will be lining up around the corner to play poker with a picture of my manberries.

Nah, it'll be a steroid controversy that will destroy the game.

I totally disagree. It is hard for me to see the interest to see fat ugly guys playing online poker in their underwear and drinking beer.
Poker coming closer to regular dummies might expand the player database from what it is now greatly. Xbox live and mobile devices have the chance to drive new masses to play online poker.

All ya gotta ask yourself is if you want to play poker while looking at manberries. If you do, webcam enabled poker is for you - otherwise not so much.
