what are you getting your mom? i had a really awesome idea planned for mine but its not going to work out anymore. what are some cool ideas? be creative

I haven't bought anyone a gift yet. My finals aren't even over yet 
What does she like? It's kinda mom-dependent. Last year my siblings and I got my mom a family ring ... they custom make it for you at the jewelry store. You put everyone's birthstone on one ring (one for each person in the family) and it looks really nice when it's all done.
I dunno what to get her this year though, bah.

ooh thats a cool idea, is it too late for me to get one of those though? would it be weird for her to just get that present from one of her kids though?
my oldest sister lives in chicago. i was thinking as a joint present id get my mom and my other sister gift certificates to some airline so they could see her an extra time. gift certificates always seems lame though.

It IS too late to give her the ring on Christmas, but what we did was order the ring and then give her a certificate that said what was coming. Then we picked up the ring and gave it to her a week after Christmas.
Hmm nah wouldn't be that weird I don't think. Your parents' birthstones would be on there too. It would just be a nice gift that symbolized her family from one of her kids.
What should I get my mom, gabe?

my wife is usually pretty creative for not too much money - (shes cheap lol) so she bought some international flower bulbs and then we bought a flower basin jar thing (whatever those things are called) and painted it and planted the bulbs in the soil and what not - I think its a good gift, if you moms into flowers at all (are any moms not into flowers, though?)
