I don't know how long I would expect one to last, but I'm on pace for 10 days 
I had originally proposed 36 hours, but that's not realistic, because I'm not pushing myself to do something that will result in alcohol poising. 60hrs is probably all i would put money on, which is kind of lame (in terms of betting).

i had a huge argument a few years back with one of my old friends about how it was impossible to finish a handle by yourself in 1 day without puking. He says he has done it in a standard night of drinking. We were almost setting up a huge bet when he wouldnt budge when I used a BAC calculator and Shaq's stats and it said he would be dead, but I didnt want him to actually end up in the hospital so I called it off.

36 hours would be easy back in the day. I'd regularly drop a handle of Ten High Whiskey on a friday and Saturday night... now in old man status.. I'd be pretty miserable, but I'd probably be able to choke it down. GL sir.

i drank a fifth of captain in 45 minutes my freshman year of college, then proceeded to do 5 or 6 more shots over the next hour. Dont remember past 11 that night, and i woke up on a piss soaked couch.

ive done a fifth in a night before and a handle between 3 friends in a night. taking it on yourself? 2 days is probably realistic, wouldn't be that fun though.

a handle is 1.75L, a fifth is 750ml, so a handle is 2 and 1/3 fifths. Easily possible in 3 nights of aggressive drinking.

I find myself buying handles of Jim Beam every other week or so, and that's with drinking occurring primarily on weekends with maybe the occasional glass in between. If I was getting drunk every night I could probably polish it in 3 days or so? But boy would I regret it on that 4th day.

I have a friend that is 7ft 2 and quite a bit over 300 lbs that drank an entire handle of jim beam by himself on a notre dame tailgate day so probably in about 14-16 hours.

Good to know I'm not the only one I guess.
Buying a case makes sense, but it would make me feel like an alcoholic (instead I just pay more to live in denial). Going down to Kentucky I can get great deals on teh bourbon's.
