I myself don't do anything besides poker and casino whoring at the moment. I will hopefully be working in the skydiving industry in the next couple years. I may end up converting my Bachelors degree in business management & administration to a teaching degree so I can always have summers off and stuff.

Well besides Low Limit Hold'em and giving Boondock topics to post in the Community forum:

I'm an Art Director at an Advertising Agency in Dallas, Texas. Which means, I come up
with/design commercials, prints ads, and billboards, along with a good bit of junk mail

I've been wondering for a while what folks do around here, because I'm wondering if my right-brained tendencies are all wrong for this silly game- as most people around here seem to be software folks, engineers, and other solid brain folks.

I'm an Art Director as well and have been an artist since I first picked up a crayon.

But I have a unique mix of right- and left-brain tendencies. I'm very analytical and logical... to the point of surprising a lot of my designer colleagues because I think like Spock and am not very emotional.

I am a server at Red Robin and will be trying to become a math teacher when I feel like starting my career. however, when you don't want to get married or have kids there's really no rush. And I'll probably go to University of Washington or Western washington University when I want to get everything rolling (I'm 21).

I'm a Philosophy major at Lenoir-Rhyne College in NC. I also play college golf. More than likely I will simply continue my education and become a college professor, I feel that's my calling, but I am highly considering playing some of the mini-tours and seeing where that takes me. Right now, I'm an office lackey making $9 an hour doing what ever they tell me while sitting on my ass. As strange as this will sound, I also work at the 3rd largest Lutheran church camp in the USA during the summers, the pay isn't amazing but the job certainly is.

I work at a hotel in the cocktail lounge, busting at jazz tunes on one hell of a sexy grand piano.. I just finished highschool so am no longer studenting, but will head back to it for an Arts degree in a year or so

The plan is that music will support poker until till poker starts supporting music.. at which point i will be spending well over 100K on a piano

I'm a physician and wannabe screenwriter/novelist.

I'm glad someone started this thread so I didn't have to.

One followup question for those who care to answer: do you feel that poker playing takes something out of what you do otherwise? Maybe it's because I'm only 6 months into playing and have to devote more time to learning to play than the rest of you, but I feel like creatively I've gone into a tailspin. Just wondering if anyone else has felt that poker has displaced energies that used to go into something else.

I've sturggled with this a little. The question for me is, would working at subway take up the same time (probably more), pay less, and make you more miserable? The answer is yes so I'm glad I'm sticking with poker.

I work with two developers that used to commute to NYC and worked in the finance sector, for reuters and merill lynch. Seems to be a pretty demanding job. Neither of my coworkers have great things to say about their former jobs other than the high salaries.

Are you living in NYC or on Long Island. I'm a former LI'er myself.

They were both in charge of some important aspects of their respective software I believe. There was little margin for error. The one that worked at merrill did say that there were a lot of slackers. He worked their years ago though.
