Anyone see this week's south park where garrison grows himself a penis? The punchline was one of the funniest and wrong things I've heard.

the fact that people actually think this episode was anything other than trash amazes me.
actually it doesnt amaze me because people are gullible and typically have unrefined tastes. this week's episode fulfilled many of the superficial comforts that generic fans of the show have come to appreciate, yet had very few actually witty and funny things to offer. it's a rare thing for south park, but this isn't the only time they've flunked an episode.
well, artistically they flunked, not in ratings tho i imagine. episodes like these tend to be among the favorites of the fan base, which explains why shows like everybody loves raymond get all the love while arrested development gets cancelled.

meh it was a relatively crappy episode, but there were some really funny parts, most namely the final cut "get an aids test..."

I 100% agree. This seasons south park is the worst ever probably. I'm trying not to be a hater though, there is some funny stuff.

nah, seasons on par with the last few seasons imo (which have been on a general downward trend to be sure). The aids episode and canada on strike were both really awesome.

i thought this weeks episode was okay. the thing is, south park is exactly like the simpsons in that it was fucking great for about 9-10 seasons, then it just stopped getting funny. it will go on forever and never get canceled, even though its lost its funny.

this episode was so funny. i laughed really hard when that guy slammed the other guy against the wall for breaking character. and then i laughed harder when the guys being interrogated and breaks character so instead he gets shot by the employees lol.

seriously guys you gotta reevaluate some of your humor sense. britney spears episode was hilarious. it definitely had some stuff that was lame, but britney singing and the men doing that assassin ritualistic type singing was prime comedy.
this season has been great. a few of the newer seasons have been the best though so its hard to live up to them.

The funniest thing about that episode was when they had her on stage, and she made that initial gurgle, and they overproduced the gurgle to death with echo/reverb/compression/etc like they do with that kinda music.

But in general I think the rest of the episode was at best, a 6.5/10 for a southpark episode.
...so many people find that show funny in different ways.

you are not a real south park fan if you think that. i think 1-10, were great, 11 started to get less funny, and this season is pretty lame. still funnier than friends or any other stupid sit com fwiw.

i will never cease to be amazed at how fans think the first few seasons even come close to comparing in quality to the last few. south park is probably the show that has made the most progress in production and story format.
at first it was basically an episode of terrance and phillip, but now its like an episode of spaceballs or something.

i definitely know what you are saying, that they evolved into a sh ow that made fun of issues, like global warming, politics, catholic church, scientology, etc. however, those episodes were still really funny, but now they just arent as funny.
for example, instead of cartman being a total conniving douche bag, they have turned him into a more empathetic figure, and that pisses me off. they dont use kenny as much.

its not that they have made cartman more empathetic, but they've made him less one dimensional. hes done some of his worst shit in the last few seasons.
they've turned randy marsh into the best character. cartman be damned. randy is way too fucking funny. i honestly can hardly even watch the first four seasons. a handful of episodes in the fourth and a couple in the first three are good, but thats it imo. succubus was good. not much beats chefs parents
