any cricket fans here? guessing not since most are US people but you never know...anyway ill just create a spanners spam thread for my own personal amusement then.
anyway the south africa / australia game starts in about 5 hours. a line above 2.4 for south africa to win looks to be a pretty nice bet IMO. its about 2.48 on WBX right now which I would take if i had an acount set up. only 2.20 at the local betshop in NZ but i might take that anyway.
south africa are ranked #1, had good form recently, australia not so good form recently but still big favourites oddswise. they do have symonds coming back into the team though. i think the game will be really close so time to gamb00l and make it exciting...

I'm a cricket fan.
Quite a good bet on SA, I think they'll win - all their batsmen seem to be in form and this game is definitely going to about the runs. Both teams have a fairly mediocre bowling line up.
EDIT: SA just won the toss and are bowling, so it's in the bag. Looks like you got good odds its now 11/10 SA
There's been some odd results so far and I'm leaning towards match fixing lol. Pakistan vs West Indies WTF Inzi and Yousif didn't even look like they wanted to chase
I think Sri Lanka might be a good pick to win

Sick batting performance by Australia. One of the biggest totals ever against one of the best teams in the world.
Indeed it has been a crazy world cup so far, who would have thought that pakistan and india would be eliminated (well india probably)
Luckily when I went to place the bet on South Africa last night it was shut...would have put $50 on them.
Anyway... so Im 0 from 1, Ill be back later with more guaranteed winners!!

the best odds i have found on the winning team are
NZ 6.5
SA 5
SL 5
AU 2.2
2 of these teams will be in the final, but could really be any of them. If both paying 5-1 Id pick SA over SL. I really think NZ will make it deep (prob runner up) but thats just my patriotist bias

Tight, much depends on the toss and the pitch. More often than not the team batting second will win. Unless the team batting first can post a total of over 350
29/03/2007 West Indies v New Zealand
Again dependent on pitch and toss, WI could win on a decent bowling track if they bowl first. However NZ's batting has been strong I think they could knock of a WI total on most tracks of they bat second
30/03/2007 Ireland v England
England obv. Unless they all get pissed the night before :-s
