Good results last night, fellas. Now on to a HUGE card tonight.
What's popping out?
My early looks:
Xavier -2
Mich. St -2
2 road dogs in conf. play, but I think that each team has the advantage.
Temple's shooting has been poor (38.8% conf), and they have a hard time matching up w/ Xavier's size. Temple's guards' recent play doesn't give any real reason to reconsider. Thinking that they're going to let X. score (X. shooting 45.9% conf/ Temp. opponents shooting 46.7% conf) and out board them (X. +2 rebs conf/ Temp -1.7 rebs conf). Home court advantage is somewhat neutralized by Temp's poor ft shooting (59.2%).
UMich just can't hang w/ MSU's big3. This team is getting hot and ready to assert itself in conf. play.

Here is what i am on tonight so far
MSU -1 (it was -1.5 at my book and i bought a half a point): 3 units!
Tennesse: 3.5 (bought a half) 1.5 units
Houston -4: 1 unit
This MSU play is my biggest of the year so far.. might even go a bit higher on it!
Metaxy I might be tailing you on the XU pick... looks pretty decent.. have to do a bit more research.
NCAA BB YTD
20-15
+9.5 units

The Tenn. line moved to 5 - too much.
Xavier line actually moving in X.s favor - now at -1.5.
Thoughts on Maryland @ Georgia Tech?? (GT -2) Leading scorer McCray out for Maryland. Williams a good enough coach to compensate w/ this veteran team, but GT is 8-2 at home and has strong guard play. Maryland 1-4 ATS conf. and 0-2 ATS otr. GT's turnover problems get a break tonight. They also match up ok against Maryland's bigs. They just don't have much depth at big (Tarver out), while Maryland does.
<<edit>> Screw GT - Williams can coach his way out of this, and GT hasn't shown me anything yet.

man, huge ticket tonight. not sure where to start. I'm likin' Marquette at home with a decent spread at -7. I'm also waitin' for the West Virginia spread to drop some more - it was at -17.5 and is now at -16. But hell, if they're on with the 3 ball, they'll cover any spread.

I'm on campus right now, waiting for my friend to finish up classes so I'll be looking over games til about 5pm. I'll edit my post when I'm done or later tonight when I arrive home.
<<edit>> Ok, I could still make more picks (haven't looked at NBA yet), but here's what I came up with so far. [4 games]
Michigan St. -1.5
Northwestern -1
La Salle +6.5
South Carolina +3
Like everyone else, I went with the Spartans. State was 8-4 ATS last year coming off a win over a conf. rival (85-55 over Iowa), plus I think they are hot right now.
Northwestern was 4-2 ATS v. teams with a losing record last year (Purdue 7-10), while Purdue is 8-13 ATS revenging a road loss to an opponent since '01-'02 (@Northwestern on 1/4, Purdue lost 53-66). Vukusic was on fire that game, torching the Boilermakers for 28. I'm expecting him to have another big game. Also, Purdue was 6-10 ATS @ home last year.
This may seem like a road game for the Explorers (10-4 ATS on the road last year), however they play a number of games at the Palestra each year. Coming off a tough loss to St. Joe's, La Salle was 7-3 ATS last year after scoring less than 60 pts. (54-66 loss v. St. Joe's).
South Carolina was 7-4 ATS vs. good defensive teams (FLA 62.1PA), and they played Florida tough last season. I still think FLA is overachieving, and if Brewer is still Q, that could hurt FLA if he doesn't play.

Wow, you guys get pretty fancy with those teasers and whatnot. I swhouldn't talk with my bonehead ML bets (eg, last night's Akron) when what I really need is POINTS.
GL tonight.
Added:
Rice -1 1.5 u
and then found it pk at sportsbook, so had to hit it again:
Rice Pk 1.5 u
Rice's lineup is a nightmare for an undersized Southern Miss team w/2 top 30 bigs and guards who know how to feed them. Decent depth at big makes me less worried about foul troubles (S Miss was able to sort of hang w/ Memphis when they got them in foul trouble). If S Miss had a serious 3 ball, it might be different.
<<edit>> added Peen St +15.5 1 u

Ya, MichSt. was rough. Kind of worst case w/ the foul trouble and a fairly deep U of M squad.
LaSalle was tough game for ya Kling - looked like they had it.
Tonight's results:
MSU -2.5 u
Xavier -1.5 u
Penn St. - 1 u
Rice +3 u
Wyoming +1.5 u
NCAA - .5 u
Once again, NBA got me winner (Bulls +1.5; Rockets under)
On the night + 1.5 u
Ytd NCAA: +1.5 u (but 1 u is only because of checking wrong box in one game!!)
Ytd NBA +3 u
Fellas, heed B's advice about those teasers!! With straight wagers, you can absorb an off game or some bad bounces or just a bonehead play.

Hit 2 of 3 of my picks.. but lost my biggest game, MSU
MSU -3 units
Tenesse +1.5 units
Houston +1 unit
Tennessee and houston were both blow out covers.
NCAA PICKS YTD
22-16
+9 units
Thank god i tailed Metaxy on that wyoming game... +9 and a SU winner .. nice pick.. with 1 unit on that i actually came out a little in the positive despite losing my biggest pick all year.
Hungry... you should have just bet all those teaser games individually.. you would have went 3-3.. would have helped cushion the blow a little.
on to thursday boys...
