I don't really follow ufc much. I enjoy it and think it's great but never order the ppvs or what not. Didn't know either of the main event fighters, just knew Brock Lesnar's name!

most fun to watch was boetsch vs. heath.
god, i had no idea who boetsch was before this. those straight kicks he was hitting were just murderous. then throws heath to the ground like a rag doll and pounds him 'til the ref stops it.
btw, while mir did tap lesnar out, if lesnar doesn't get pulled off mir on the first barrage, fight is likely over. the hit to the back of the head was just meh, incidental at best. mazzagatti or w/e is an awful ref to begin w/.

Lol,
David Heath is a phailure. Losing to a fighter who had 10 days notice and WAS NOT EVEN TRAINING FOR A FIGHT AT THE TIME is unacceptable. Hopefully we've seen the last of Heath.
Timmah Sylvia put on a much better fight than he did vs. Vera, and I was worried for Big Nog. Sylvia should have never let it hit the Ground.
Is Lesnar the new Bob Sapp? Me thinks so. Congrats to Mir for proving me wrong. Never thought about a leg lock. I should have only looked back to Arlovski vs. Sylvia #1.
How much longer before Tyson Griffin gets a title shot? He has earned it if you ask me.
OMG Chris Lytle is the Pride of Firefighters. Knocked his guy so bad, his opponent pulled guard on the Ref, lol.
Congrats on Almedia's comeback. Gracie BJJ FTW!
Why doe we have to see Emerson fighting still?
Jeremy Horn needs to hang it up.
Umm.....that about sums it up. Oh yeah 2007-08......Season of the Not Truly Champions!!! Interim? Are you shitting me?

Lesnar was landing a lot of shots but I don't think it was as close to being a finish as dthorne suggested.
I saw the kneebar coming a mile away when Lesnar was holding Mir's legs and looked totally confused.
FWIW, I think Lesnar will do really well with more experience.

kneebar was telegraphed, and lesnar knows he fucked up that one, bad.
i really believe he will do great with experience. i don't care how good mir's chin is, however. he instinctively shyed away from the shot like anyone would and turned his head away from the shots. lesnar did make a mistake in hitting him in the back of the head -- however he shouldn't have lost a point, should've gotten a warning.
however, if you look at mir, he looked like complete ass when he stood up, that break was huge to him. everyone thought the fight was over. i think there's an 80% shot the fight is done at that point if there's no stand up. with time lesnar is gonna be sick...he's so freakishly fast for his size, and obviously strong an as ox.
he got careless and mir snapped him up. mir is not the kinda guy you can make that kinda mistake with.

From what I've read, Mir's camp thought Lesnar would keep it standing up longer which is why he opened with leg kicks. Makes sense but didn't quite work out. I agree that he shouldn't have lost a point, but that's what you get with a lame ref. Everyone always thinks the fight is over when it's stopped for illegal blows. I think it's closer to 40%.
Agree 100% that Lesnar is going to be great.
But wtf quit hijacking my thread. WAR NOG

Nobody finishes Nog, yo.
Well except Fedor's forehead, but that doesn't really count as a stoppage.

sylvia wasn't knocking out nog unless knock just dropped his hands and said "Hit me as hard as you can over and over again." Even that may have lasted 'til the 4th. God, Nog's face looked like burger.

Which is exactly why I made the above statement. Timmy feels he can KO anybody. Not quite the case though.
How bout Lesnar vs. Sylvia now?

I think Lesnar will get an off fight, maybe against Vera or something, and Sylvia will probably get the winner of Kongo-Herring. This is pure speculation, obviously, but I don't think we'll see Lesnar-Sylvia for a year or so.

Timmy feels like he can KO anybody, but he hasn't actualy done so in a long time. I would probably like him more if he would just say in his pre-fight interview, "i am going to jab him to a decision."
Seriously, HW is so boring. The smaller guys are so much more exciting.

Silva-Henderson is really close but sadly I think I have to give a small edge to Silva due to recent cage experience. I'm rooting for Henderson though.
GSP via whatever he wants followed by a long reign in the #1 spot.
Also I think Kongo-Herring will be pretty good. Kongo has been an absolute beast in his past few fights, and I think a win here sets up him for a title shot after one more win.
Yushin Okami-Evan Tanner is another fight I'm really looking forward to because I've followed Evan Tanner's adventures over the past couple of years and he's been through a lot. As much as I want Tanner to pull this one out, I have to say it's pretty even until I see what Tanner can do with such an extended stay from competition.
lolololol @ putting Arlovski on the undercard too. It's his last fight on his UFC contract.

ufc has made another startling horrible decision.
not only are arlovski, and koscheck not making the main card...
but now they've moved diego sanchez's fight off the main card in favor of...
chris leben vs alessio sakara.
what.

I assume this was made for Sakara, not for Leben.
Arlovski isn't on the main card for good business reasons. As for Koscheck, who knows?

If Heath Herring takes a page from Carmello Marrero's playbook and puts Kongo on his back the fight is over. Kongo has no ground game whatsoever and people don't exploit it enough.
The UFC is either screwing with Fitch or giving him the Roger Huerta treatment and grooming him SLOOOOOOOOOOOOWLY. I don't know why. John Fitch is a certified contender right now.
I think moving Sakara and Leben to the main card will avoid a Kos lay and pray session. And Diego is either hit or miss. At least with Leben you have a certified slobberknocker of a fight on your hands, as both are tried and true strikers. I say Leben by KO.
UFC Fight Night predictions.
Florian over Lauzon
Alves over Parisyan
Bonnar over Hammil (My upset special)
And can someone explain how Guida doesn't make a main card of a fight night?
UFC 83 Predictions
GSP over Serra (For real this time, lol.)
Lutter over Franklin (Upset special)
Quarry over Starnes
Bisping over McCarthy
Danzig over Boeck
UFC 82 Predictions
Silva over Henderson
Herring over Kongo
Leben over Sakara (Should wind up Fight of the night.)
Tanner over Okami (Upset Special)
Fitch Over Wilson
