thinking will give you wrinkles, just steal the first opinion you hear on the subject and claim it as your own.
If you ask me, bench McNabb!

If I were the Eagles FO, I'd be so sick of McNabb always whining and crying that I just wouldn't care.
Great signing IMO, and I knew if it was going to be with the Pats or Eagles it was going to be a 2 year deal. Personally, I thought Vick was always overrated as a QB but I think this is a good signing.. low risk (from a football perspective), high reward. I'm anxious to see how Reid works him in.
Random QB view that I know I said somewhere several years ago before the the 'wildcat' got popularized by Parcells and Sparano: This is how I would set up my QB depth chart: have your starting QB, ideally a Brady/Manning/Rivers/Brees type, or whoever-- your best QB here. 2nd QB should be a slashing, wildcat, mobile QB type that is a great athlete, and the team SHOULD USE them on a consistent basis. Maybe 1/4 the plays, or whatever. Maybe the starter gets banged up, maybe they need to figure out a defense, maybe they want to change things up, whatever. I'm sure there would be ways to get them both on the field at the same time, albeit rarely.
Third QB could be an old guy that still wants a job, or a young prospect that you're too afraid to put on the practice squad. Infact, you could keep an old vet as the #3 and an undrafted FA type on the practice squad until he gets good enough that you dont want to lose him, then cut the vet and give the prospect a spot.
This takes advantage of NFL rules perfectly which allows a 3rd QB to not count against the 45 that dress on game day but is still allowed to play. Why nobody has done this is beyond me.

To go along with that, it might be changing but guys like Troy Smith and Dennis Dixon got drafted in the 5th round. Specifically, you can get great athletes and great college QBs in later rounds with minimal investment that might not project well as a full time starter but would fit perfectly in the roll that I described.
Pat White basically fits the bill of what I'd look for PERFECTLY, drafted in the 2nd round by the Dolphins. Or Mike Vick, whatever.

Didn't the Eagles give McNabb a totally unnecessary bump in salary this offseason? Like barely even an extension just... HERE'S SUM MANIES!!!
He'll take over for Westbrook, imo... GOGGOGOGOGO *(am drunk)

I wish he came to chicago.. weve needed a QB for forever..
That being said, there could def be a very interesting dynamic on the eagles. And Im happy to see him back. He made a mistake, hopefully hes learned some shit, and at the end of the day hes a really entertaining athlete to watch. I never was really ALL that into football, I dont watch every bears game even, but when he was playing I would def tune into falcons games if I ever noticed they were on.

Philly fans are known to be ruthless. I wonder how bad they are going to treat him, or If they will embrace him instantly. Whatever happens there will be a media frenzy at all the games.
I think its a win win for the eagles.

I'm a Bronco Fan so I was hoping we would come our way. But he'll do fine over there. Should be interesting. Bigger problem is PETA stepping in and being a bigger distraction then Vick.

I thought about this which is why I kind of figured he would sign with a team that has a HARDCORE fanbase.
Seriously, who in their right mind is going to protest at the games in Philley (or any NFC east team for that matter), Pittsburgh, Chicago, or pretty much any team known for having a rabid fan base?
It might be more feasible in San Fransisco IMO.

vick could be a dangerous addition to an already solid team if they use him correctly. mcnabb is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, if anybody doubts this look at his win percentage over his career, only one with a better winning percentage is tom brady. vick won't be playing qb unless mcnabb gets injured, maybe a few snaps a game in a specifically designed play to keep the defenses on their toes. i see him being used as kordell stewart/slash type of roll a few plays a game.

I wonder what the initial interaction between mcnabb and vick is... its not like they are signing some second rate qb for the backup, or as if they are drafting some college kid to mold over the years and have waiting for mcnabb to get too old. This is a top rate quarterback who is only not one of the leagues starters because of a bad off field decision. There has to be tension, I just wonder how they handle it.
