Oh jeez. Should I add Skype to this poll? I remember seeing something about Skype. Should I sticky that thread, too? Where is it?

Skype is cool, for one-on-one or small roups.. but you cant get more the 5 on one conference call at a time, and the voice quality is not very good once you do.

I've only ever used Ventrillo. New talkie things scare me.

-'rilla

Smithers, use the amnesia ray.
You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.

You can have multiple people on skype, its just 4 per host. The quality w/ just 3 or 4 people is allmost as good as phone quality. It does cause a little lag w/ your game though...especially first person shooters.

We have pretty much moved back to Ventrillo. You simply can have a larger group talking at one time and the sound quality on the new server is excellent. Last night we had about 12 people in there.....good times.

I really liked the Skype software and interface but you could only have 5 people in a "conference call" and there was always 1-2 people patiently waiting for someone to leave so they could join the fun.

PalTalk was just OK, however the adds and the spyware/pop-ups made it a no-go for me.
