i know it's like the epitome of Un-BOC-ness... but when you have a wife and two kids and limited monies... it's necessary... what's the appropriate BR for this trip.

Between 1k-2k to play poker with (assuming you're only playing soft 1/2 and 1/3 games.) Plus room (see prices online) and food ($40/day low end, it's not hard to go $100+ if you go balls out.) If you play 2/5, you'll want to bring between 4k-5k cash with you.

Yeah, I'd say 1k would be about right if you can nit it up a little bit. If you run well then $500 will do you just fine, though. Here are my three trips I've taken:
1) Took $500, came back with $650 after food, drink, strip club, limo, etc.
2) Took $500, came back with $1350 after food, drink, strip club, limo, etc.
3) Took $500, came back with $0 and put about $150 on my credit card to pay for some of my meals...
First two trips were sweet because I ran *hot* my first night out in Vegas each time, so I had plenty of money to ball with...First trip almost paid for itself, my second trip *easily* paid for itself and then some...
This third trip with FTR I ran like dogshit early on so I had to become even more of a nit than normal. I had a few people offer to stake me but I tried to make it through without it (and I was able to). While everyone was out eating sushi I was across the street at Subway or Burger King, lol.
P.S. I'm married too, no kids yet but my wife is going back to school for twelve months starting in August, so we'll be living on one income in this big house...I'm still going to find a way to come, start saving now if you need to.

I'm already scheduling time off for next year, have to do this thing at least once and assuming I can actually get out of this slump I might be able to have a bankroll to play with.
Will be first time in vegas and first time trying live NL (casino here only spreads 5/10 and 10/20 limit that I don't have roll for) so hoping I can do it right

I too am saddled w/ a wify and kiddy and since a divorce is not in the immediate future alas there is virtually no chance. My coworkers get out 3x's per year from the east coast. AC is the most I can swing.

ill be in vegas Jan 11-14 of next year. i got a free room for 4 nights and 3 days for a 2 hr timeshare seminar. Hopefully im semi-robusto by then so i dont have to use a big portion of my BR to play live.

I will either be there next year, or will have totally given up on poker and turned to a life of crime (or a real job). Was more than disappointed that I didn't make it this year to see all the BOC, but BR reality was staring me in the face.
(never been to Vegas)
