imagine theres a five dollar bill like the one above. it is torn where the red lines are so that it is only connected by that little piece in the middle.

if you owned this, whats the least you would sell it to someone else for? like if you were offered four clean dollar bills for it, would you take it?

also, if someone had this and was selling it to you, whats the most you would pay for it?

obviously it depends on situational factors like where you plan on spending it and the likelihood someone accepts, the chance it gets ripped all the way in your wallet or money clip or whatever, etc

You should be able to get $5 worth of value out of this if correctly played imo

ive been thinking alot about this and its all relative to your bankroll

if your worth 100k+ you probably wouldnt think much about taking 4$ for a sketchy 5$ bill . hell , you'd probably give it away !

if your like me and worth 10k , 5$ is a meal and you'll try to squeeze as much out of it as you can . i know i honestly get bummed out when a store gives me sketchy one dollar bills as change .. being as im near canada i used to get upset when they'd give me a canadian quarter over the good 'ol eagle . (now that our dollar sucks , its a different story ) i always feel a little bad spending sketchy bills when they are held together with tape .

bottomline , to me 5$ is alot yet phil ivey sets 5$ bills on fire nightly to keep his feet warm .

I wouldn't give you more than $2.50. That would be even money on the fact I could lose half or make it to someplace where I could spend it or fix it. I wouldn't sell it for anything less than $5. I ain't in the habit of giving money away.

I would accidently rip it in two then offer you $2.50 for it then proceed to the bank for a new crisp $5 bill.

Find 2 bums and drop it in between them. Hilarity ensues.

/hijcak

One time I go to the corner store. I always bought a six-pack of miller light for one roomy and two 40oz for me and a friend. The total was $8.10 so I always took a dime. I went to this store multiple times a week for at least a month and always the same guy.

One day my dime happened to be Canadian...

AssFucker: I can't take that
Me: Haha, yeah. Damn canuck money isn't worth crap
AssFucker: No, seriously I can't take it
Me: <blank stare>
AssFucker: <blank stare>
Me: Fuck off

Walked out of the store and never went back.

banks and our own government will replace it for free, it's not like the money with rips in it is all of the sudden worthless or worth less than before, so I don't get what we're debating here.

obviously I'd sell it for no less than $5.

buying it from someone does bring a problem as it costs money to go to the bank or to send it in to our treasury department. I'd figure in the cost of a stamp or the cost of gas to get to the bank, or make sure I was already going to the bank for something before I purchased it from someone else...

I'd pay up to $4 for it, and I'd be willing to sell it for $4.80

I am 99.99% sure I can just use a piece of scotch tape and any vendor would accept it. Or I just take it to my favourite restaurant (taped up) and they would not dare refuse to take it. $0.20 represents the value of the time and materials required to tape it.

Yea but I cant multitable steadily and profitably for an extended period of time. I will take breaks, and a ride to the bank seems like a good break for me(I like driving fast too btw).

I would buy the bill for 4.75 max. Anything less then 5$ is +ev but no less then 4.75 because I never use any coins less then a quarter.

I wouldn't sell the bill for anything less then 5$. Maybe ebay it as an antique bill for 20$?

if you are seen with this bill, the loss of street cred and prestige knocks you down a value of probably $500. since there is a significantly greater than 1% chance of this happening, this bill is not only completely worthless, but it has negative value, so you should do everything in your power to get rid of it ASAP.
