Alright I have had this persistent pain for a wekk and a half now, I'd just like to know if anyone else has had any experience with it.

Initially, I started having a weird pain where when I breathed deep my lower right abdomen would have a sharp but bareable pain. Strangely over the next few days this pain migrated to my shoulder. during the middle stages, my pain seemed to have went down a bit, but now it's back up again.
As of now, I have a heavy sharp pain in my shoulder when I laugh or breathe deep (which didn't help when I was reading triptane's post lol) and also a decently bad but bearable pain no matter what in my shoulder.
I'm definetely going to a doctor tommorrow but I have no idea what the hell this is and I like to know if anyone has ever had any experience with it.

I tried WebMD, no help.

Pleurisy? Where the lung membrane sticks to the chest cavity? If the shoulder pain is right in your joint of at the top of your arm obv this isn't it, but I get it sometimes - just for a few minutes usually.

I had a problem just like this once. It was a muscle spasm in my back that pulled on the back of my rib cage and caused an offset in a spinal vertebra. It was putting extra pressure on a nerve and caused pain radiating down my lower back, and then it moved to my upper back. One half-hour session with a chiropractor fixed it.

Obviously this may not be the same thing as in your case, but it's something to consider.

IS it a muscle pain or a nerve pain? I had shingles last week which affects a certain part of the nervous system. It's most common symptoms are chicken pox clusters and pain in the affected area. If it's in your shoulder nervous system it can shoot down your side or into your arm. Sometimes the pain shows up before the pox do. I don't think you have this though.

So my university sponsored 15 students from Russia to come to our campus and study alongside the rest of us Criminal Justice majors for a week or so. The 15 that came are the best, and the brightest (theyre overwhelmingly female, probably hairy but I havent met them yet) of the group.

One of my best friends is housing two of them.

Tonight, we're throwing a party for all 15 at his place. This is going to be absolutely insane.

Get some A535 cold and rub it on the pained area.

About a month ago I woke up with a lat muscle spasm that made my back/lat/shoulder feel like hell. I couldn't even use my arm for 2 days. I put some A535 on it, which made the muscle relax and allowed it to heal. In less than a day I was at 90%.

Have you hurt your back recently? I hurt my back playing hockey once and the result was pains in my side rather than my direct back area. Something to do with how the muscle all connect and work. It never went up to my shoulder but other than that this sounds the same. I hurt my back via means of a twisting motion (it would have been the coolest move if I didn't drop to the ice for no visible reason in pain)

Incredibly inactive people probably have a better chance of pulling their muscles doing ordinary things. Maybe you reached for something and strained it.

Could you have torn something? Maybe see an orthopedic surgeon who might suggest an MRI. I've had arthroscopic shoulder surgery and the throbbing sounds familiar. I also have bouts of pleurisy as well but for me at least it's more of a temporary thing lasting a few minutes up to about 30 min max. The one time it lasted hours I went to the ER which is how I found out what it was.

If House MD has taught me anything, which is hasn't, we can safely assume it's an inoperable lung tumor and the only way to save your life is to remove the right half of your brain.

So it has been a little better but if it gets worse again im going back to the doctor. I think something may be out of place but its really hard to tell. Maybe a chiropractor will do the trick?
