I find it rather ridiculous that women can actually be raped. Me, although a male, and not very large for that matter, can come up with several ways from top of my head to maim a potentially much larger male who tries to enter one of my orifices. Therefore there is no such thing as a rape, and every sex is consensual until at least one of the actors is heavily mutilated or dead.

Even without a weapon, a few serious smacks to the head, hands to the throat, or any other kind of physical assault and promise of future assault/death will have 99% of people submit/comply. We're not super heroes. Fear, panic, and shock set in and all a person wants is to get away alive.
It's like when they tell women that if an assailant isn't holding a gun to your head they should run because aiming a pistol is hard and you'll probably get hit somewhere non lethal. Are you serious? That makes sense in an abstract statistical setting but who is going to be thinking that when you see someone pull a gun.

if we're starting with the assumption that there is going to be physical violence in an attempt to prevent a rape, it seems the smaller and weaker person is the one far more likely to end up heavily mutilated or dead.

I'm not sure what are jokes are not, and I guess nothing should be held up as not to laugh about...
But someone very close to me got raped at knife point. It fucked up her life for a very long time. Years of depression, anorexia and other psychological problems. All caused by some cunt rapist (luckily he's in prison for other rapes now).
I just don't find it funny, but meh, whatever gets you through the day.

I have a buddy who knocked his gf up, she had an abortion. Not too long after, one night in a drunken stupor, I mass sent out a link to this pro-life blog, where the author had taken an onion article "I just love abortions" seriously, and posted this big long hilariously angry response to what was obvious satire. The aforementioned buddy was accidentally part of this mass email and I guess there were some graphic pics that pro-lifers love to use.
Needless to say, he wasn't impressed with me. But it'll be a cold day in hell before I think it's inappropriate to laugh at that situation -- I obviously should have just been a little more careful who I sent it out to, but on a public messageboard, we don't have the luxury of knowing everyone's sensitivities, so those who are can just suck it.

True is what other person here said, most peoples reactions are unfortunately most likely too awful to fend of an fierce attacker. Sad it is how we are wired.
Still, your assumption that a larger person has an edge over a smaller one in a life threatening situations of this type is somewhat wrong. Since rapists primary objective is not to kill his victim (at least not yet), the victim, entering self-defense mode has quite big element of surprise over an attacker, and although its very small time frame, you can cause some serious injury by attacking your assailants eyes, chewing on his neck, bashing the testicles, etc.

I think Nekrogovner lives in a different world from the rest of us. I'm glad that in your world every person no matter how small or weak has the ability to physically defeat anybody else in your world no matter how large or strong they may be, but in ours that just isn't the case, and therefore, no, being physically overwhelmed does not equate to consent in our world.
