Time to quit, go away, leave, hit the road. However you want to put it, I am done with this game.
Why?
Because is seems like I'm not allowed to win. Only loose. Hour after hour, day after day, week after week .... even month after month.
Today was simply a micocosim of how the last few months have gone and today was IT.
I decided to play the .5/1 limit game on Party Poker. I made the following promises to myself:
1. Not to go in with anything less than a group 0 or group 1 starting hand.
2. Not to continue past the flop with anything less than a "made" hand.
And the results of about 7hrs of play? I lost over 50 bucks. And that was on made hands. Sets were beat by streights. Full Houses by bigger full houses. A nut diamond streight (K9 in my hand with the Ad on the table) was beat by four of a kind aces (only 2 aces on the table ... the dude had a pair in his hand and was NOT betting them).
And, like I said, this isn't just one day. This has gone on over a period of months.
So, while it's been great reading the posts here and on "other" boards, I can't take, emotionaly, the constant loosing. Guess I'll just watch the folks who CAN win every once in a while (on TV).
Wish it had turned out different.
Bye all.
Dean

When you earnestly believe you can compensate for a lack of skill by doubling your efforts, There's no end to what you can't do.
It takes time to develop poker skillz...

If you kept losing at life, would you quit? This is just poker suicide. Don't give up. Go calm down, enjoy yourself. Be happy and play some good poker : )

You're playing too tight.

I think you should go play tiddlewinks instead of poker.

Bye Carl. Sorry it didn't work out for you.
Your send-off explaination actually had me worried about my own future finacial health, but then I saw you were playing "no-fold'em-hold'em" -- you can guarantee bad beats playing that tight at that low limit. And $50 at a $1 table isn't that much -- if it is "much", you are playing above your bankroll.
Take a month off. Go play at some lower limits. Review your hands and decide what you did right (or wrong.) Learn a new game to gain some insights. Play live with friends. Or really just quit -- poker is not necessarily a pasttime that should be encouraged.

Not being an ass, but everyones has been at his point, either quit or work harder, personally, I worked harder, and i think he should do the same, but no reason to get on here and pout.

If your not having fun, then quit. There are more important things than money.

Try an easier site, i've found party really tight since the blind changes, it's tighter than stars now and stars used to be a rock garden. VC have easy ring games and lots of people on small bankrolls who only buy in for about $5, easy money.
