First off, anyone have this song? it's impossible to find.
Those who don't know this is the song that eminem remade that has tupac and biggie on it. IMO it may be the best rap song ever made. Tupac and biggie both have ill verses on it.
I really want it but i cant find it.

I think I found it.
It's called "Running (Dying to Live)" according to this article
Quote:
|
The first release from the soundtrack is "Running (Dying to Live)" and is a remake of a posse cut called "Running From the Police," where, most notably, Pac and the Notorious B.I.G. were featured. To breathe new life into the record, Em incorporated a sample of Edgar Winter's "Dying to Live," in addition to snippets of Tupac and Biggie interviews.

I searched it at www.isohunt.com and got one hit. I am trying to download it right now but there are zero seeders

I'm not sure if this is the song your talking about...
[Sway (MTV Interviewer) Speaking] Between you and Biggie was like, who's gonna, who's gonna,
who ruled, the, the, nigga kingdom and shit basically, you know what I'm sayin'?
It was like, this is like an election...
[2Pac speaking:] It is an election
[Sway Speaking] You know what I'm sayin'?
[2Pac speaking] Me and Biggie's situation was smaller than that,
me and Biggie's situation was like...
Check it, I grew up a fucking screw up
Got introduced to the game, got a ounce and fucking blew up
Chopping rocks overnight
The nigga Biggie Smalls trying to turn into the black Frank White
We had to grow dreads to change our description
Two cops is on the milk box missing
Show they toes you know they got stepped on
A fist full of bullets a chest full of Teflon
Run from the police picture that, nigga I'm too fat
I fuck around and catch a asthma attack
That's why I bust back, it don't phase me
When he drop, take his glock, and I'm Swayze
celebrate my escape, sold the glock, bought some weight
Laid back, I got some money to make, motherfucker
If it is say so and i'll post it.

For me Tupac is really ill. I understand the argument for him being overrated because his lyrics don't have much substance (There are some good songs of his where he talks about heavy shit). His flow however is awesome. Also, while his lyrics aren't meaningful, his lyrics are good.
I think he is overrated though, just not way overrated. He didn't bring anything unique to rap.
That being said Jay-Z WAY overrated discuss.

Pac overrated? Are you serious? His lyrical ability and rhyme schemes make any modern day rapper seem insignificant. You say his lyrics lack substance, but to me they reflect the struggle and the problems of society. What rappers do you consider have meaningful lyrics?

I am not too big of a fan of Jay's music but I respect him because he truly is a baller. His beats are just a matter of taste in my opinion, it really has that east coast sound.

Lol at people slandering Pac and Jay-Z. Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt is one of the sickest albums made, D-Evils, 22 Twos, Regrets.. naaaah that album's too hot. After that he fell of hard though, I blame Dame Dash, since he met him he's been making gash shit.
2Pac was definitely one of the best, maybe like top 20 I'd say. Best of all time is definitely Nas. The way I see it, Illmatic >> Hip Hop Album. 9 proper tracks long and it still blows anything out of the water.
Best hip-hop artists are people like Nas, Pharoahe Monch, Common, Talib Kweli, Big Pun etc. Also big mention to people like Cunnylinguists, Immortal Technique, Non Phixion, Jedi Mind Tricks etc.
Hip hop is g00t.

I've just gone through a list of guys in my head and I place him about 11th, higher than I thought I'd have him.
Anyway, that's all just about taste and what appeals I guess.

yah "top 5" just goes down to taste. But I think most of our top 20 lists would look similar. Tupac is ill, but he falls a few spots on my list simply because I just dont identify with him that much. Its something about how he carries himself. Also I am not a huge fan of most of his beats. He def doesnt fit into my top 5, prob somewhere between 15-20.
I just tried to type up a quick top 5, and I cant do it. I did put jayz in at first, but Ive decided no matter what my top 5 is, I just dont think therse room for him. Hes prob top 15.

and yah, its shame that jayz is being called the king. I got respect for him, and hes damn close to being the king, but nas gets the crown. Jayz pulled a very strategic stunt by "retiring." He keeps saying "Im going out on top." Then after he "retires" everyone starts spittin lines about taking the crown now that the king is gone. Its like he found a way to get the acclaim given to a dead artist without dying.

lol that MTV list is retarded, I don't think Tupac is top 5, but he's definetelytop 10 (not ahead of biggy wtf?)
7,8 and 10 i dont get, it's just ignorant. Ice Cube is not a great rapper. Big Daddy Kane isn't top 10.... maybe number 10. lol at LL cool J

anyone who thinks this doesn't like rap, which is fine - but if you know rap at all then you would know tupac was an incredible talent. I should go look it up, but didn't he do something like 16 albums or some ungodly amount? And it wasn't tons of crap on his albums - it was all good shit...all the commercialized crap today is what I have a problem with - Lil Wayne is supposedly hot and I can't stand him - his stuff sucks - there are too many of those rappers out these days...
I'm trying to figure out how long rap is going to last...I mean they rap about money, hoes and cars - They have jewelry and houses, but those kinda fall under the money theme...Seems like every song is the same shit to a different beat - this can't last that long, can it?

yah its funny, the more you say something the more it becomes the popular truth it seems. Lil' wayne is the perfect example. Hes had a few songs where he laid down a good commercial hook, "go dj" "rain on em hoes," but hes not some great rapper. The thing is he keeps saying it, and so people repeat it, and then it becomse the popular truth.
Eminem is ok at 9 I guess, he def doesnt get higher, and could easily be pushed back since hes fallen off so hard.

mtv is definitely a joke as a whole but their list they put out isn't too far off
only questions i think i think are ice cube and LL on there. eminem should def be top 10 and so should tupac...saying either isnt qualified is just plain wrong.

MTV were always gonna put Jay-Z at number 1 tbh.
Agree about LL Cool J, some of his older stuff is g00t and he's one of the pioneers of more mainstream hip hop, whether or not this is a bad thing is up to you, but if definitely deserves some accolades.
