i want a ps3 but dont want to pay the full $400 for one from the store so i started looking on ebay and amazon. they have some pretty good deals but when it comes to buying expensive things on ebay im always sketched for obv reasons. anyone have experience with it or know something i dont that will make buying it easier?

I got my PS3 from eBay. It worked out allright. Just make sure you look at the seller's feedback and see if he's sold at least somewhat expensive stuff before and delivered on it.
My only gripe was that I think I paid for the 80 GB version and ended up with the 60, but I think that the person selling it to me honestly thought he had the 80 GB version. Meh, oh well. Works plenty well for me.

Believe it or not, you got a deal then... 60GB models are the only ones with HARDWARE supported PS2 backwards compatibility, all the rest are emulators which don't do a good job... besides, if 60GB isn't enough, you can always switch out the harddrive... FWIW, the 60GB models generally go for more money if the seller knows what he has...
