are there any poker apps that aren't mac compatible? also, if i bought a new computer that had the hardware to handle vista, would that be a better option? (It would be waaay cheaper)

hem and pt3 dont work on a mac, I know stars has a compatible client, dunno about other sites. I believe there is a free hud + tracker but it isn't very good from what I've heard. I use HEM and stars on a mac using parallels which basically uses your computers resources to run a windows operating system simultaneously (not emulation because your intel mac has all the hardware that windows requires, it literally just runs it alongside using at 100% speed of the processor(you need to partition ram)) and I have never had any problems.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

you can get much more powerful laptops using windows vista for the same money.
Apple's perceived strength is not is stability or whatnot, its its marketing.
The one thing you may notice, they do get some of the major tech advances like LED backlit screens etc. faster than other OEMs. Faster as in 2 to 3 months earlier. But afterwards, everybody has more or less the same hardware to play with and offer at far more competitive prices.
Some recent news for you:

http://www.dailytech.com/Apple+in+Co...ticle13583.htm
I myself am getting me one of these shortly, with custom decals by Mike Ming, built in finger print reader, backlit keyboard, 17" led display, the whole shebang. Oh, and you also get an extra 9" smaller laptop which is handy for browsing the intarwebs, checking mail, etc. With the same equipment as a MBP unibody 15" , you could save like 400 or so.
http://www.dell.com/content/products...=19&l=en&s=dhs
But if you choose to ignore people's advice: go ahead and buy a MBP unibody! Its your money, you have the right to burn it any way you choose to
