very nice, not that I plan on doing this anytime soon, but I hear you can have dual 30 inch monitors. Somebody on 2p2 was talking about it. Imagine how sick that would be?

haha yeah, um, that would be sick. 8 on stars 10 on party? To be honest, 12+ at full ring wouldn't be that challenging.

josh I forget who made the post, it was quite some time ago, but there supposedly is a app that allows you to have seperate start bars for each monitor. So for the 4 tables on the right there could be a start bar that has those 4tables listed. Yanoe what I mean?

in all seriousness, where could I go to figure out whether or not my computer/video card/whatever could support adding a 2nd massive monitor? It's not something I plan on doing now, but in the future, who knows...

assuming you have a 2nd port on your aftermarket video card, try plugging your current monitor into that port instead. If it works, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to run a 2nd. My computer allows me to run 3 monitors of 2 different sizes at once (on two video cards).

The 30s take special video cards, VERY demanding monitors only a handful can power them IIRC.
And no, fu, I can't run irc.

There are indeed 2 ports, but only one of them is dual-link capable. Meaning that if I plug my 30"er into the other port, the screen rez maxes out at 1280x800 instead of its native 2560x1600. I assume this means I'm not going to be running dual monitors at 2560x1600 with this setup... not that I'm not satisfied with my current setup.

do you really need one that expensive to run the resolution you run?
You aren't playing 3d video games or anything.

PCI. My dell has a small box and AGP's don't fit in it.

Yeah, cards with dual-link capability that can run 2560x1600 don't come cheap, that's for sure.

Theres three types.
PCI - Old old technology
AGP - Was the "nexgen"
PCI-E - Is the nexgen
pcie>agp>pci
The card you were looking at was pci-e
