Techno is an ambiguous term.
If you mean anything electronic-y, I've been into Lippok & Morgenstern, Isolee, Boards of Canda, and Broadcast lately.
If you mean Techno as in high BPM, dance music, then I've got nothing.

Air are French are they not?
I just discovered Audiobullies off a Lucozade add. They're good to me.

If you want something a bit more hardcore try
"Another Planet" or "Slam" by Pendulum,
"Kill Bill vol 4" by Mode Selektor,
"Window Licker" by Aphex Twin,
" Boomin Back 'Atcha" or "Amped" by Freq Nasty,
"My Red Hot Car" or "Come on my Selector" by Squarepusher,
"Cut the Midrange..." by Cylob.
Failing that you can't really go wrong with The Prodigy

This is pretty much a lot of trance.
"Dark Side of the Moon" by Ernesto vs Bastian
"Smooth (Airbase Remix)" by Iio
"Sparkles" by DJ Tiesto
"Euphoria" by DJ Tiesto
"Forbidden Paradise (Deep Trance Mix)" by DJ Tiesto
"Crush" by Paul Van Dyk
"The Silence 2000" by DJ Tiesto (you may find it by Delerium, but you want the Tiesto remix)
"Southern Sun" by DJ Tiesto (may find it by Paul Oakenfold, you want the Tiesto remix)

Squarepusher and Aphex Twin = +EV
Air as I know them are a French band, but I've seen them listed as "AIR (french band)" which makes me think that there's another Air out there.

If you're looking for cool ambient stuff (good background music for parites) I would recommend St. Germain, Royksopp, and Sigur Ros will blow your mind if you open it Can't go wrong with Daft Punk either. None of this is new news, but as an indie rock guy these bands are worth crossing genres for. And AIR is definitely French, and way up there as well. If you're looking that pharmy Drum and Bass dance stuff ignore this post.
