Okay. Just for shits and giggles I decided to post my "Ho Ho Ho NSFW Thread" on a couple other forums. So I posted it on strippersweb. While there I noticed a thread about a woman complaining about how her boyfriend was whining about her getting a tattoo. Me being the jerk that I am posted this:

So to sum things up a women getting a tattoo has -EV (expected value) on something that is already decreasing in value (as far as dating value goes). Ladies don't hurt the value that you have, otherwise you will end up with some tatted out junkie living in a trailer park, while you prostitute for your four kids.

Now, some of it was me trying to be a douche, but I personally feel that tattoos on women are not hot at all. They do distract from her beauty and do not enhance/improver her looks. I'm just wondering what you guys think. Link to the original post is here.

But then again the same goes for guys, its just that Im not looking at guys as someone I might want to have sex with. The idea of a tattoo is really cool, however all too often the execution is abysmal.

some girls sometimes get something decent on a foot or ankle which I am cool with
a girl who was kinda a hippie had her old station wagon on her back/side but it fit her personality so it was cool.
I have more of an issue with gross face piercing than anything. Besides a little nose stud or pierced ears everything else is a big turnoff.

Well... I'm not a huge tatoo fan on women but I do think some get it for the signifigance... and sometimes that is ok. There are some women though who understand how to work the tatoo... small, hidden 99% of the time, on a hot body, works. Large, in your face, or stupid (like Angelina Jolie) doesn't work.

OP's got a point. Women are hot enough in swim suits, lingerie or less and a tattoo just seems to take away from whatever hotness they have. In very special situations, it might be break-even on the hotness EV, but never + imo.

Makes no difference to me, I kinda like em. I've been with a few. as long as they don't have some piece of shit tattoo on their bicep like a trucker I am all for it. I was with one girl that had a serpent from her front shoulder and over down her back and across to her other butt cheek. It was fucking huge, and she was afraid of nothing, and I mean nothing in the bedroom.

a problem with tats other than what has already been stated is that most people thing they're smart and fashionable so they try to be yet they are actually not so the tats they get are just bad.
besides, even then, a true artist/genius would never ever go the way of tats because they know that most of what they make is complete crap, and that they're lucky if in their lifetime they create just one piece of art worthy of existence.
besides the point that tats are largely just unattractive physically, they are unattractive mentally because people who like them seem to not be introspective or think that deeply about things.

back in my younger years, before my wife, I liked tattoos on hot chicks. something about them, kind of how jyms mentioned it, screamed, "I'm crazy enough to have ink on my body so just think how crazy I'll be in the bedroom." they weren't the type of girls I wanted to settle down with, just girls I wanted to have some fun with. Like jyms' experience, I had ridiculous amounts of fun with these girls (and yes they were CRAZY in bed)...
If my wife had a tattoo when we started dating I would have seen her as one of these girls, and things would (probably) be much different, because I would have seen her as a different type of girl. If she got one today I wouldn't be happy with it, but it wouldn't change anything between us. I've actually always wanted one but that's made her want one too, so I'll probably never get mine because of that...
p.s. the one she wants would be a *tiny* tramp stamp, with our initials in it somehow. I mean it *might* look classy if done right, but there's about a 99.9% chance that it wouldn't, so my tattoo is a no-go.
