Howdy,

Long time poker player (33 yrs) but not a big on line gambler. I have a lame connection and have had enough times where I lost money due to connection issues that I basically stopped after 2 months once the disconnect got me upset and burned my small bankroll.

But I was playing in a High (play money) stakes Omaha Hi-Lo ring game at PokerStars and some guy comes in asking to buy chips.

I asked "what is deal?"

he said "I have $1.20"

I said "that'll get you 100K"

He said "sounds good send em"

RIGHT... I told him "YOU ASKED... YOU make first move"

Then blah blah blah "been burned won't do that" blah blah "I send half then you send 1.20" blah blah "sent 50K" blah blah "Sent 1.20" blah "no sign of it" blah "just wait" blah blah "not there" blah "I will resend" blah "OK if you mistakenly send 2.40 I will send another 150K" etc.

Well he was cool and it was all good. Got my huge 1.20 bankroll start going. WOO HOO.

So I went to a $1 + .20 SnG with 45 players. Ended up 3rd for $7 and WOO HOO I upped my Bankroll almost 600%.

BEAT THAT ROI SMARTGUYS!!!

kidding...

Anyway. here's the funny part.

I start to look for another $1.20 game and I hear a BZZZT. Nothing seemed odd on PC, so I look around the room then I hear it again. I get up and see at the side of my monitor has bright blue fireworks inside it thru the sidevents. The screen is only WAVY and flickerry at this point. weird.

I rush to do a proper PC shutdown and suddenly the BZZT becomes a Snap Crackle Pop and small flames shoot out thru the vents. So screw the proper PC shutdown I kill main power.

Figures. I get a win on my entire Bankroll ALL IN and the POKER Gods give me a warning.

If it would have happenned an hour earlier I would not have got my precious $7.

Sigh.
Been playing money poker for 34 years and decided in 2002 to try that TX Holdem game on TV. Then found Pokerstars in Summer 2005. Still not an overall winner but i am on a good trend and nearly there.

It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.
